The following is a list of people executed by the U.S. state of Oklahoma since 1976.

Contents

The total amounts to 124 people, and all were executed by lethal injection. [1] Of the 124 people, 121 were males and 3 were females who all had been convicted of first-degree murder.

Douglas Franklin Wright was an American serial killer who murdered at least seven people between 1969 and 1991. He was sentenced to death for three of these murders and was executed in 1996 at the Oregon State Penitentiary, becoming the first person to be executed in Oregon since 1962. He was also the first person executed in Oregon by lethal injection.

Robert Wayne Williams was an American murderer convicted of the January 1979 murder of Willie Kelly, a 67-year-old security guard. He was executed in 1983 by the state of Louisiana by electric chair. He became the first person to be executed in Louisiana since 1976 when the death penalty was reinstated.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Charles Coleman (murderer)</span> American murderer (1947–1990)

Charles Troy Coleman was an American convicted murderer and suspected serial killer who was executed in 1990 by the state of Oklahoma. He was convicted in 1979 of the murder of John Seward, who, along with his wife, was killed by a shotgun blast in rural Muskogee County, when they interrupted a robbery at a relative's house. He also murdered Russell E. Lewis in a fatal carjacking in 1979 and is suspected of murdering the father of his former girlfriend in 1975. Despite killing at least three people, he was never convicted of the murder of Seward's wife and his sentence for Lewis's murder was overturned.

Capital punishment was abolished in Colorado in 2020. It was legal from 1974 until 2020 prior to it being abolished in all future cases.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Roger Dale Stafford</span> American serial killer (1951–1995)

Roger Dale Stafford was a convicted serial killer executed for the 1978 murders of the Lorenz Family and six employees of a Sirloin Stockade restaurant in Oklahoma. Stafford never acknowledged his guilt, but Stafford's wife, Verna, implicated him in a total of 34 murders in seven different states.

Capital punishment is a legal penalty in South Korea. As of December 2012, there were at least 60 people on death row in South Korea. The method of execution is hanging.

Scott Dawn Carpenter was a convicted American murderer. At the age of 22, he was the youngest person to be executed in the United States after capital punishment was reinstated by the United States Supreme Court by a 7–2 decision in the Gregg v. Georgia case.

Capital punishment was outlawed in the State of New York after the New York Court of Appeals, the highest court in the state, declared in 2004 that as currently practiced it was not allowed under the state's constitution. However certain crimes occurring in the state that fall under the jurisdiction of the federal government are subject to the federal death penalty.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Robert O'Neal (murderer)</span> Executed American murderer (1961–1995)

Robert Earl O'Neal Jr. was an American white supremacist and convicted murderer who was executed by the state of Missouri for the February 1984 murder of Arthur Dade, a 33-year-old black American man. O'Neal, who was serving a life sentence for the robbery and murder of 78-year-old Ralph Roscoe Sharick, stabbed Dade to death at the Missouri State Penitentiary. For the latter murder, O'Neal was sentenced to death and executed in 1995 at the Potosi Correctional Center via lethal injection. O'Neal is notable for being the only white person to be executed for killing a black person in the history of modern Missouri.
