This is a list of people executed by lethal injection in Missouri, comprising 98 convicted murderers since 1976, when the US Supreme Court reaffirmed the death penalty with its decision in Gregg v. Georgia .

George Dale was the lover and criminal partner of Eleanor Jarman, dubbed by the press "The Blonde Tigress". Dale was executed by the state of Illinois in 1934 for the murder of Chicago clothier Gustav Hoeh, which he committed with Jarman and another criminal associate, Leo Minnici, acting as his accomplices.

George C. "Tiny" Mercer was an American man who was convicted for the rape and murder of 22-year-old Karen Keeton in Belton, Missouri, on August 31, 1978. At the time of the murder, Mercer had a charge pending against him of raping a 17-year-old girl. He was executed at the age of 44 by the state of Missouri by lethal injection. He became the first person to be executed in Missouri since 1965. His execution was carried out in the former gas chamber which was converted to use lethal injection.

Opened in 1969, Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison (GDCP) is a Georgia Department of Corrections prison for men in unincorporated Butts County, Georgia, near Jackson. The prison holds the state execution chamber. The execution equipment was moved to the prison in June 1980, with the first execution in the facility occurring on December 15, 1983. The prison houses the male death row, while female death row inmates reside in Arrendale State Prison.

The Missouri State Penitentiary was a prison in Jefferson City, Missouri, that operated from 1836 to 2004. Part of the Missouri Department of Corrections, it served as the state of Missouri's primary maximum security institution. Before it closed, it was the oldest operating penal facility west of the Mississippi River. It was replaced by the Jefferson City Correctional Center, which opened on September 15, 2004.

Capital punishment in Delaware was abolished after being declared unconstitutional by the Delaware Supreme Court on August 2, 2016. The ruling retroactively applies to earlier death sentences, and remaining Delaware death row inmates had their sentences commuted to life imprisonment. Despite this, the capital statute for first-degree murder under Title 11, Chapter 42, Section 09, of the Delaware Code has yet to be repealed, though it is unenforceable.

Capital punishment is a legal punishment in Pennsylvania. Despite remaining a legal penalty, there have been no executions in Pennsylvania since 1999, and only three since 1976. In February 2015, Governor Tom Wolf announced a formal moratorium on executions that is still in effect as of 2023, with incumbent Governor Josh Shapiro continuing Wolf's moratorium. However, capital crimes are still prosecuted and death warrants are still issued.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Kelvin Malone</span> American spree killer executed in Missouri (1961–1999)

Kelvin Shelby Malone was an American spree killer who murdered at least four people in March 1981. Convicted of three murders but suspected in five; he was sentenced to death in both California and Missouri in 1983 and 1984 respectively. He remained on death row at San Quentin State Prison until he was extradited to Missouri in December 1998 to face execution. He was executed in January 1999 at the Potosi Correctional Center via lethal injection.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Robert O'Neal (murderer)</span> Executed American murderer (1961–1995)

Robert Earl O'Neal Jr. was an American white supremacist and convicted murderer who was executed by the state of Missouri for the February 1984 murder of Arthur Dade, a 33-year-old black American man. O'Neal, who was serving a life sentence for the robbery and murder of 78-year-old Ralph Roscoe Sharick, stabbed Dade to death at the Missouri State Penitentiary. For the latter murder, O'Neal was sentenced to death and executed in 1995 at the Potosi Correctional Center via lethal injection. O'Neal is notable for being the only white person to be executed for killing a black person in the history of modern Missouri.
