'A' vs. Monkey Kong (titled Monkey Kong in the United States) is the second studio album by the British alternative rock band A. It was released on 9 September 1999 via Tycoon Recordings. Recording sessions took place at ICP Recording Studios in Brussels, Eden Studios in London, at #5, and at Martello Tower in Suffolk from October 1998 to February 1999. Production was handled by Al Clay. The album reached number 62 on the UK Albums Chart and number 81 on the Offizielle Deutsche Charts. It was promoted with three charted singles, "Summer on the Underground", "Old Folks" and "I Love Lake Tahoe", which peaked at No. 72, 54 and 59, respectively, on the UK Singles Chart.
In May and June 2001, the band toured Europe as part of the Deconstruction Tour. [4] In 2020, the album was ranked No. 43 by Kerrang! magazine 'The 50 best albums from 1999' list. [5]

Slipknot is the debut studio album by American heavy metal band Slipknot. It was released on June 29, 1999, by Roadrunner Records, following a demo containing a few of the songs which had previously been released in 1998. Later, it was reissued in December 1999 with a slightly-altered track listing and mastering as the result of a lawsuit. It was the first release by the band to be produced by Ross Robinson, who sought to refine Slipknot's sound rather than alter the group's musical direction. This is the only album to feature original guitarist Josh Brainard who left at the end of recording in late 1998 while the band was taking a brief break. Jim Root, who recorded two tracks at this point, would appear full time on subsequent albums starting with their next album Iowa.

Jason Perry is an English record producer and singer/songwriter. He is the lead vocalist of the Suffolk based band alternative rock 'A'. He has an identical twin brother, Adam, and a younger brother, Giles, both of whom are also members of the band. He is the former singer and guitarist for hardcore punk band Hexes, the former bassist for A, the former lead guitarist for alternative rock band Bloodhound Gang and current guitarist for metal group Krokodil. The Blackout are a Welsh post-hardcore band from Merthyr Tydfil, formed in 2003. In 2007, the band released their debut album, We Are the Dynamite. Their second record, The Best in Town, was released in 2009. The band's third album, Hope, was released in 2011 and charted at number 27 in the UK album chart. Their fourth studio album, Start the Party, was released in 2013. The Blackout's final release was a five-track EP entitled Wolves, with their farewell tour held in early 2015, finishing in their hometown of Merthyr Tydfil in March 2015.
