American Football is an American math rock band from Urbana, Illinois, United States, originally active from 1997 until 2000, and again from 2014. Guitarist/bassist and singer Mike Kinsella, drummer and trumpet player Steve Lamos, and guitar player Steve Holmes formed the band.

Decibully was an indie rock band based out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin that formed in 2001 and played their final show early in 2011. The band signed to Polyvinyl Records in August 2003. In March and April 2004, the band went on a West Coast tour with Onelinedrawing, Cardia, and Roy. Decibully's final two albums, World Travels Fast & "Self Titled" were released by Listening Party Records. Decibully successfully toured the US, Canada & Europe multiple times. Each record was recorded & produced in-house by Ryan Weber.

Mike Kinsella American musician

Mike Kinsella is an American multi-instrumentalist involved in many Illinois-based bands such as Cap'n Jazz, Owls, Joan of Arc, The One Up Downstairs, American Football, and Owen. He was first recognized in the music scene in Cap'n Jazz, formed by his brother Tim in 1989, at the age of 12. In 2001, Kinsella began his current solo project, Owen, in which he performs vocals, guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, loops, etc. Kinsella was also in a band called The Shirts and Skins, with his wife. In 2013, he released two EPs with his latest project, Their / They're / There, featuring Evan Weiss of Into It. Over It. and Matthew Frank of Loose Lips Sink Ships.

No Good for No One Now is the second studio album by Owen released on November 19, 2002. The album was recorded in Mike Kinsella's old bedroom at his mom's house. The cover art is a painting by Charlot Byj. "The Ghost of What Should've Been" was posted on the label's website on November 15, ahead of the album's release. On November 20, the album was made available for streaming via an e-card. In January and February 2003, Owen appeared on the Polyvinyl Winter Tour alongside Rainer Maria and Mates of State. In October and November, Owen toured across the US with Maritime, the Weakerthans and Mico.

Everynight Fire Works is the debut album by American rock band Hey Mercedes. Following the demise of Braid, most of the members formed Hey Mercedes, with guitarist Mark Dawursk joining in early 2000. The band released a self-titled EP through Polyvinyl Record Co., before signing to Vagrant Records at the end of the year. They recorded their debut with Burning Airlines member J. Robbins at Pachyderm Studios in Cannon Falls, Minnesota in April 2001. Everynight Fire Works is an alternative rock, emo, indie rock and pop punk record that drew comparisons to Burning Airlines, Jets to Brazil, and Shudder to Think.

The Seaside EP is a rarities release by Chicago artist Owen. It was released on July 7, 2009 by Polyvinyl Records digitally and as a CD. The album was said to ship on June 26, 2009, but was sent out a week earlier as Polyvinyl received them. The EP's cover art was designed by UK illustrator David Blanco. The majority of songs can all be found on Japanese Owen releases, and the last track is from a compilation 2x7". It was re-released on vinyl on Record Store Day 2013.

Frontman Evan Weiss said of the band's sound "people have these expectations like it's gonna sound like something we've already done, but it doesn't [...] but I think, listening to the songs, you can tell that the three of us wrote them."

Carey who produced the album during two nine-day sessions.
