Toirdhealbhach Ua Conchobhair anglicised Turlough Mór O'Connor / O'Conor, was King of Connacht (1106–1156) and High King of Ireland.
Tighearnán Mór Ua Ruairc, anglicised as Tiernan O'Rourke ruled the Kingdom of Bréifne as the 19th king in its Ua Ruairc dynasty. He was a descendant of Ui Riagain, and one of the provincial kings in Ireland in the twelfth century, constantly expanding his kingdom through shifting alliances, of which the most long-standing was with Toirdelbach Ua Conchobair King of Connacht and High King of Ireland, and subsequently his son and successor Ruaidhri Ua Conchobair. He is known for his role in the expulsion of Diarmait Mac Murchada, King of Leinster, from Ireland in 1166. Mac Murchada's subsequent recruitment of Marcher Lords to assist him in the recovery of his Kingdom of Leinster ultimately led to the Norman invasion of Ireland.
The Kingdom of Breifne or Bréifne was a medieval overkingdom in Gaelic Ireland. It comprised what is now County Leitrim, County Cavan and parts of neighbouring counties, and corresponds roughly to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kilmore. It had emerged by the 10th century, as a confederation of túatha headed by an overking drawn from the Uí Briúin Bréifne.
Ruaidrí Ua Conchobair was King of Connacht from 1156 to 1186, and High King of Ireland from 1166 to 1193. He was the last High King of Ireland before the Norman invasion.
Conchobar Maenmaige Ua Conchobair, son of High King of Ireland Ruaidrí Ua Conchobair, was King of Connacht from 1183 to 1189. He was a military commander and opponent of the Norman invasion of Ireland.
Feidlim Ua Conchobair a.k.a. Fedhlim O'Connor was King of Connacht in Ireland, having been proclaimed King by William de Burgh in 1230, he reigned from 1233–65. Fedhlim died in 1265 and was buried in the Dominican Priory in Roscommon which he founded in 1253. He was succeeded by his eldest son Aedh mac Felim Ua Conchobair.
Cathal Carragh Ua Conchobair was King of Connacht from 1189 to 1202.
O'Connor, is an Irish Royal House of Gaelic and some Anglo-Norman origin, whose line included the historic Kings of Connacht and the last High Kings of Ireland. The family seat is Clonalis House outside Castlerea in County Roscommon.
