Christopher Hansteen was a Norwegian geophysicist, astronomer and physicist, best known for his mapping of Earth's magnetic field.

The annual Knutepunkt conference, first held in 1997, has been a vital institution in establishing a Nordic role-playing identity, and in establishing the concept of "Nordic larp" as a unique approach. Slependen Station is a railway station on the Drammen Line located at Slependen in Bærum, Norway. Situated 15.82 kilometers (9.83 mi) from Oslo Central Station, it consists of an island platform and serves the L1 line of the Oslo Commuter Rail operated by the Norwegian State Railways. It had 900 daily passengers in 2008.
The Voss Line is a railway line from Bergen to Voss in Vestland, Norway. It opened on 11 July 1883 and was extended to Oslo as the Bergen Line on 27 November 1909. It was built as 1,067 mm narrow gauge, but converted to 1,435 mmstandard gauge with the connection with the Bergen Line. It was electrified in 1954, and shortened by the Ulriken Tunnel in 1963.
The Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters is a Norwegian learned society based in Trondheim. It was founded in 1760 and is Norway's oldest scientific and scholarly institution. The society's Protector is King Harald V of Norway. Its membership consists of no more than 435 members elected for life among the country's most prominent scholars and scientists.

Ole Hartvig Nissen was a Norwegian philologist and educator. He founded Nissen's Girls' School in Christiania in 1849. In 1865 he became director-general in the Ministry of Education, while remaining one of three joint headmasters of Nissen's Girls' School until 1872. In 1873 he was appointed to the prestigious position as rector of Oslo Cathedral School.

Snarum Station is a railway station on the Krøder Line in Buskerud, Norway. It was opened on 28 November 1872 and located in the village Snarum. The station building was designed by Georg Andreas Bull in Swiss chalet style. On 26 November 1872, farmer Jørgen Rytterager was appointed the first station master of the station. The station was one of the stations on the Krøder Line with the most passenger and freight traffic. Passenger service was ceased on 19 January 1958, and freight traffic on 1 March 1985.
Hvem er hvem? was a Norwegian book series, presenting facts about notable persons from Norway. The first edition was issued in 1912, and the 14th edition came in 1994. In the 2008 edition, edited by Knut Olav Åmås, one thousand persons were selected for presentation. About one third of the articles are longer, signed biographies, while the rest have a shorter, more encyclopedic format.

Eivind Astrup was a Norwegian explorer and writer. Astrup participated in Robert Peary's expedition to Greenland in 1891–92 and mapped northern Greenland. In the follow-up Greenland expedition by Peary during 1893–94 he explored and mapped Melville Bay on the north-west coast of Greenland. Among his works is Blandt Nordpolens Naboer from 1895. He was awarded the Knight of the Order of St. Olav in 1892.
Pastor Hans Møller Gasmann was a Norwegian educator from Oslo, promoter of association football and one of Norway's first Scout leaders, who founded the Second Christiania Scout Troop at Frogner in Oslo in 1910. In spring 1911, he met with Christian Dons, who had started the First Christiania Scout Troop. They founded the Norwegian Guide and Scout Association.
