The Norwegian Football Cup is the main knockout cup competition in Norwegian football. It is run by the Football Association of Norway and has been contested since 1902, making it the oldest football tournament in the country. The tournament is commonly known as Cupen, NM or NM Cup, an acronym formed from Norgesmesterskap. These terms are used to describe both the men's and women's competitions. The equivalent competition for women's teams is the Norwegian Women's Football Cup.

The 1968 Norwegian Football Cup was the 63rd season of the Norwegian annual knockout football tournament. The Final was held on 27 October 1968, between Lyn and Mjøndalen. Lyn won their eighth Norwegian Cup. Having won the league, Lyn qualified for the 1969–70 European Cup, with Mjøndalen qualifying for the 1969–70 European Cup Winners' Cup as runners-up.

The final was played at Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo on 13 October 1946, and was contested by the same two teams as in last year's final. The defending champions Lyn won 3-2 after extra time against last year's losing finalist Fredrikstad and secured their sixth title.

Skeid had previously played two cup finals but lost both in 1939 and 1940, while it was Viking's second appearance in the final, having previously lost in 1933. Lyn were the defending champions, but were eliminated by Brann in the fourth round.
