Fotballklubben Kvik (FK Kvik) is a Norwegian association football club from Trondheim. To avoid confusion with the other Norwegian football club named Kvik, which was also known as FK Kvik until 1997, FK Kvik is sometimes referred to as Kvik Trondheim. The club was founded in 1900, and is the oldest football club in Trondheim. [2]
Kvik was founded in 1900. For its first fifteen years of existence, Kvik dominated regional football. In 1915, the team reached the semifinal in the Norwegian Football Cup, where it lost 0–3 to Kvik Halden. [3] FK Kvik considers the 1920s to be its golden age. [4] During the 1920s, Kvik played three cup quarter finals, in 1922, 1923, and 1925. [2]
In 1947–48, Kvik participated in the first post-war season of the League of Norway (a predecessor of the Eliteserien). [5] After this season, the league system was changed, and the number of teams at the highest level of Norwegian football decreased from 74 to 16. In this new league system, Kvik played two seasons in the Main League, 1951–52 and 1954–55. [6] [7]
After the 1955–56 season, Kvik found itself playing at the second highest level of Norwegian football. At this time, it competed with several other teams, including Rosenborg BK, over the status of the best football team in Trondheim. [3] Bjørn Hansen, who would later become a professional football manager, played for Kvik during this era. [8]
In 1968, Kvik was relegated to the third highest level. [4] After this, Kvik has not reached its former heights. It currently plays in the Norwegian Fourth Division, the fifth highest level of Norwegian football. [9]
Kvik had a women's football team from 1979 to 1998. [4] Since 1981, Kvik has hosted an indoor football cup, Kvik Cup.
In the first round of the 2006 Norwegian Cup, Kvik played against its former rivals Rosenborg BK, by then one of the best football clubs in Norway. Rosenborg won the match 8–1. [10] After the match, Rosenborg player Per Ciljan Skjelbred commented that Kvik "kept at it like heroes". [11]
Fotballklubben Bodø/Glimt, also referred to as Bodø/Glimt, Bodø, or its former name Glimt, is a Norwegian professional football club from the town of Bodø in Bodø Municipality, Nordland county, Norway. The club currently plays in Eliteserien, the Norwegian top division. The club was founded in 1916.

Terje Skarsfjord was a Norwegian football player and manager. A native of Narvik, he spent the majority of his playing career at his hometown club Mjølner in the 1960s and 1970s, and also lived a period in Trondheim where he played for FK Kvik. After his playing career ended, he managed his former club Mjølner, but became more famous as manager of Tromsø, whom he guided to victory in the Norwegian Football Cup in 1996.
Nidelv Idrettslag is a Norwegian sports club from Trondheim, Sør-Trøndelag. It has sections for association football, team handball, floorball, track and field, weightlifting and Nordic skiing. Nidelv IL ski also owns, and organises the annual Nardorennet and football organises the Nidelv Cup every autumn. The sports team also has its own salmon dam in Nidelva.
Fotballklubben Sørøy Glimt is a Norwegian association football club from Hasvik Municipality in Finnmark county. The result of a merger between clubs in a tiny municipality, it was still a mainstay in the Third Division between 1995 and 2010. The club is based in the village of Hasvik.
Ski- og Fotballklubben Lyn is a Norwegian alliance sports club from Nordre Aker, Oslo. It has two sections; for association football and Nordic skiing. Until 2010 they had a third section, for top-level association football, named FK Lyn. In the skiing is also embedded orienteering, triathlon, and track and field. The most successful club in Norway, Rosenborg has won the Norwegian Premier League 22 times and the Norwegian Football Cup 9 times. Although founded in 1917, it was not permitted to play in matches sanctioned by the Football Association of Norway until 1928. Rosenborg joined the top league in 1967 and won it in the club's inaugural top tier season. It has only spent one season outside the top tier since, which was in 1978.
