2BD was a local radio station opened on 10 October 1923 in Aberdeen, Scotland, by the British Broadcasting Company. Operating from a studio at the rear of a shop belonging to Aberdeen Electrical Engineering at 17 Belmont Street and a transmitter located on the premises of the Aberdeen Steam Laundry Company, the station broadcast on a frequency of 606 kHz medium wave.

As the capital of Wales, media in Cardiff plays a large role in the city and nationwide. Employment in the sector has grown significantly in recent years, and currently provides employment for 2.1% of the city's workforce – higher than the level across Wales (1.1%) and marginally lower than that across Great Britain as a whole (2.2%).

6BM was a local radio station broadcast by the British Broadcasting Company. The station transmitted from its studio in Bournemouth above a pram and cycle shop at 72 Holdenhurst Road. It could be heard up to about 25 miles (40 km) away.
