The 1958 Waterford Senior Hurling Championship was the 58th staging of the Waterford Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Waterford County Board in 1897.
Mount Sion were the defending champions.
On 28 September 1958, Mount Sion won the championship after a 6–10 to 1–08 defeat of Faughs in the final. [1] This was their 14th championship title overall and their sixth title in succession.
Mount Sion is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Waterford City, County Waterford, Ireland. It was founded by teachers in the school of the same name. Although technically separate from the school, the club still maintains a close relationship with the school, sharing the same sports facilities in the city.
John Keane was an Irish hurler who played as a centre-back at senior level for the Waterford county team.
Phillip "Philly" Grimes was an Irish hurler who played as a midfielder at senior level for the Waterford county team.
Frankie Walsh was an Irish hurler who played as a left wing-forward at senior level for the Waterford county team.
Martin Óg Morrissey was an Irish sportsperson. He played hurling with his local club Mount Sion and with the Waterford senior inter-county team in the 1950s and 1960s.
Michael Peter Flannelly was an Irish hurler. At club level he played with Mount Sion and was also a member of the Waterford senior hurling team. Flannelly usually lined out as a forward.
