The 2004 Waterford Senior Hurling Championship was the 104th staging of the Waterford Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Waterford County Board in 1897. The draw for the opening round fixtures took place on 26 January 2004. The championship began on 2 May 2004 and ended on 4 December 2004.

Mount Sion were the defending champions. [1]

On 10 October 2004, Mount Sion won the championship after a 4-14 to 4-07 defeat of Ballygunner in the final at Walsh Park. [2] It was their 34th championship title overall and their third title in succession.

Lismore's Dave Bennett was the championship's top scorer with 4-52.

Ballygunner GAA

Ballygunner GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club located in the parish of St Mary's Ballygunner in Waterford City, Ireland. The club is exclusively concerned with hurling. The club is one of the most successful in Waterford with a number of county titles and have produced many great players for Waterford such as Paul Flynn, Fergal Hartley, Billy O'Sullivan, and Pauric Mahony. The club enjoys an intense rivalry with city club Mount Sion and for many years through the 1990s and 2000s, the two clubs dominated the county scene in Waterford meeting each other in the county final most years. The Waterford Senior Hurling Championship is an annual hurling competition organised by the Waterford County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1897 for the top hurling teams in the county of Waterford in Ireland.

Waterford Intermediate Hurling Championship is a second-tier hurling competition organised by the Waterford Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The winning club progresses to the senior grade the following year for the Waterford Senior Hurling Championship. The winning club also represents Waterford GAA in the Munster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship. Each of the two divisions of Waterford GAA - East Division and West Division - organises its own competition, with the two winners contesting the county final.

The Nire-Fourmilewater GAA

The Nire—Fourmilewater GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Ballymacarbry, County Waterford, Republic of Ireland. The Nire and Fourmilewater are two separate clubs, with separate committees pulling from the same pool of players. The Nire is the football club in the area and Fourmilewater the hurling club. Both teams play in the Mill Field, Ballymacarbry. The Nire is a half parish with Touraneena, while Fourmilewater is a half parish with Newcastle, County Tipperary. The Nire play in yellow and blue, while Fourmilewater play in blue and white. The related Ballymacarby Ladies' Football club has also enjoyed much success, winning 10 All Ireland titles.

Sliabh gCua–St Mary's GAA is a GAA club based between Dungarvan and Clonmel, County Waterford, Ireland. The club plays both hurling and Gaelic football. The club can trace its way back to 1927 but it was in 1970 that the present club Sliabh gCua–St Mary's GAA was formed. The club still uses two separate names depending on which sport they are playing. The name St Mary's is used as the name for its hurling teams, while its football teams still go under the name of Sliabh gCua. At underage, they are joined with Modeligo and are known as Naomh Brid. At U21 level, they are joined with a few other small local clubs Colligan and Kilgobinet, who play under the name Comeragh Gaels.

Thomas Ryan is an Irish sportsperson. He plays hurling with his local club Tallow and is a former Waterford senior inter-county team member.

The 2021 Waterford Senior Hurling Championship was the 121st staging of the Waterford Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Waterford County Board in 1897. The championship began on 28 August 2021 and ended on 3 October 2021.
