The 2014 Waterford Senior Hurling Championship was the 114th staging of the Waterford Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Waterford County Board in 1887. The championship began on 25 April 2014 and ended on 5 October 2014.

Passage are the defending champions, however, they were defeated in the quarter-final stages. [1] Ballygunner won the title following a 2–16 to 0–9 defeat of Mount Sion in the final, having remained undefeated during the whole championship campaign. [2] Ardmore were relegated having lost all their group games and the relegation play-off.

All but one of the twelve teams from the 2013 championship are participated in the top tier of Waterford hurling in 2014.

Ardmore, who defeated Dunhill by 0–23 to 2–13 in the final of the intermediate championship in 2013, availed of their right to automatic promotion to the senior championship. [3]

Similarly, Roanmore defeated An Rinn by 3–15 to 3–9 in the 2013 relegation play-off, and so An Rinn were relegated to the intermediate grade for 2014. [4]

Ballygunner GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club located in the parish of St Mary's Ballygunner in Waterford City, Ireland. The are the current All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship title holders.

The Waterford Senior Hurling Championship is an annual hurling competition organised by the Waterford County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1897 for the top hurling teams in the county of Waterford in Ireland.

Eoin Kelly is an Irish hurler who played as a full-forward at senior level for the waterford county team. He joined the team in 2001 and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement in 2012.

The 2009 Waterford Senior Hurling Championship commenced on 25 April and concluded on 17 October 2009. De La Salle were the defending champions, having beaten Abbeyside in the 2008 final. Ballygunner defeated Lismore in the 2009 final following a replay. Due to complications with the former structure of the championship in 2008, it had been decided that the 12 teams would be structured into two groups of six. The top four teams from each group advanced to the quarter final stage, from which the semi-finals and the final were played. The final and replay were played in Walsh Park in October 2009. The teams which finished last in each group played in a relegation playoff match. The losing team, Rinn Ó gCuanach, have been demoted to Intermediate for 2010.

Pauric Mahony is an Irish hurler who plays for Waterford Senior Championship club Ballygunner and was previously the captain of the Waterford senior hurling team before announcing his retirement from inter-county hurling in 2023.
