The 1974 Amateur World Series was the second baseball Amateur World Series staged by the short-lived World Amateur Baseball Federation (FEMBA) [lower-alpha 1] but was kept on the books after FEMBA once again joined with the FIBA. The Series was held in St. Petersburg, FL, Clearwater, FL and Bradenton, FL from November 13 through November 24, 1974.[ citation needed ] Very few records for the event have been located.[ citation needed ]

Orlando Ramírez Leal, nicknamed as "El Ñato", is a Colombian former Major League Baseball shortstop who played for the California Angels between 1974 and 1979. He was the first recognized Colombian-born player in major league history, following Luis Castro, who played 42 games for the Philadelphia Athletics in the 1902 season.
