The 1985 William Jones Memorial Cup is the ninth edition of the William Jones Cup.
The R. William Jones Cup, also known as the Jones Cup, is an international basketball tournament organized by the Chinese Taipei Basketball Association (CTBA) held annually since 1977 in Taiwan.
14 teams participated in the preliminary round composing of 4 groups with the top 2 from each group advancing. The team from the Philippines defeated the United States in the final at overtime. [1] [2]

The Northern Cement basketball team refers to the team that represented the national basketball program and training pool for the Philippines men's national basketball team from 1980 to 1986. The team was owned by businessman Eduardo "Danding" Cojuangco, Jr. through his company, Northern Cement Corporation (NCC).
