The 2001 William Jones Cup (24th tournament) took place in Taiwan. Chinese Taipei won its first title since the first edition of the tournament 24 years ago. [1]

The Chinese Taipei national football team represents Taiwan in international football and is controlled by the Chinese Taipei Football Association. Despite never qualifying for the FIFA World Cup, Chinese Taipei, then known as Taiwan, reached the semi-finals of the 1960 and 1968 AFC Asian Cups, finishing third in the former. The side also won gold at the 1954 and 1958 Asian Games, although the players in the team originated from British Hong Kong.

The team nickname was a reference to the centennial celebration of the independence of the Philippines.

The 2012 William Jones Cup was the 34th tournament of the William Jones Cup that took place at the Taipei Physical Education College Gymnasium in Taipei, Republic of China from August 18 to 26, 2012.

The 2013 William Jones Cup was the 35th tournament of the William Jones Cup that took place at the Xinzhuang Gymnasium in New Taipei, Republic of China from July 6 to July 15. Iran's national basketball team went on to win their fourth title by winning all of their seven games in the tournament.

Mighty Sports Basketball team

Mighty Sports is a basketball team based in the Philippines playing in various domestic leagues and tournaments in the country such as the Pilipinas Commercial Basketball League (PCBL) and the Republica Cup. The team won four championships in the Republica Cup in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2018.

The 2019 William Jones Cup is the 41st staging of William Jones Cup, an international basketball tournament held in Changhua, and New Taipei City, Taiwan. The men's tournament was held from 12 to 21 July 2019 while the women's tournament will be contested from 24 to 28 July 2019.
