On 1 November 1988, Tongil Sports Co., Ltd. announced the organization of Ilhwa Chunma Football Club and chose Dongdaemun Stadium in Seoul as its home stadium. Then on 18 March 1989, 108 days after the announcement, the organizing ceremony was held at the Sheraton Walkerhill Hotel in Seoul. Ilhwa Chunma participated in its first season as the 6th professional football team of Korean Professional Football League.

<i>Taejo Wang Geon</i> (TV series)

Taejo Wang Geon is a 2000 Korean historical period drama. Directed by Kim Jong-sun and starring Choi Soo-jong in the title role of King Taejo. The drama aired from April 1, 2000 to February 24, 2002 in a total of 200 episodes. In the scene dealing with the end of Gungye, it gained a lot of popularity, recording the highest viewership rating of 60.4% in the metropolitan area.

Six of them were professional teams, and the other teams were semi-professional teams. It began on 31 March and ended on 11 November. It divided into two stages, and winners of each stage qualified for the championship playoff. It gave 3 points for a win, 2 points for a draw, and 1 point for a draw without a goal.

The military team Sangmu FC was also withdrew the league, but Hanil Bank was remained the league.

Busan IPark

Busan IPark is a South Korean professional football club based in Busan, South Korea that will compete in K League 1 after being promoted from 2019 K League 2. Its current home ground is Busan Gudeok Stadium. The club was one of the original five members of the K League and continuously competed in the first division from 1983 to 2015, when they were relegated. Initially, the club was simply called Daewoo in reference to the company that originally owned and financed it. Today they receive financial backing from the HDC Group.

The 2009 season was Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma's twenty-first season in the K-League in South Korea. Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma competed in K-League, League Cup and Korean FA Cup.

Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma–Suwon Samsung Bluewings football rivalry was called Magyedaejeon or Magye derby. K League stated in its official website that this match is one of classic football rivalries in the league. The match takes place between the two professional K League Classic teams in Seoul National Capital Area; Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma and Suwon Samsung Bluewings.

Eyes of Dawn is a South Korean television series starring Choi Jae-sung, Chae Shi-ra and Park Sang-won. Directed by Kim Jong-hak and written by Song Ji-na based on the 10-volume novel of the same name by Kim Seong-jong, the story spans the years from the Japanese colonial period to World War II, Korea's liberation and the Korean War.
