The 1984 Korean Super League was the second season of top football league in South Korea. A total of eight teams participated in the league. Six of them were professional teams, and the other teams were semi-professional teams. It began on 31 March and ended on 11 November. It divided into two stages, and winners of each stage qualified for the championship playoffs. It gave 3 points for a win, 2 points for a draw, and 1 point for a draw without a goal.

The 1985 Korean Super League was the third season of top football league in South Korea. A total of eight teams participated in the league. Six of them were professional teams, and two of them were semi-professional teams.. It began on 13 April and ended on 22 September.

The 1986 Korean Football Festival was the fourth season of the top football league in South Korea. Six teams participated in this season. Five of them were professional teams and one was a semi-professional team. Hallelujah FC, the first South Korean first professional football club, changed its status to a semi-professional club and withdrew from the league afterwards. Sangmu FC, run by the Army also withdrew, leaving Hanil Bank as the only semi-professional team in the league.

The South Korea men's national volleyball team represents South Korea in international volleyball competitions and friendly matches, governed by Korea Volleyball Association. The Republic of Korea (ROK) has competed in the Olympic Games eight times, but has not featured since the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. The national team's best performance at the Olympic Games was 5th place at the 1984 Games in Los Angeles, California, United States. The national team at the FIVB World Championship competed nine times, with their best result at 4th place in 1978. On continental level, The national team won three gold medals at the Asian Games in 1978, 2002 and 2006. And at the Asian Championship, the national team won four gold medals, two of these was at home in 1989 Seoul and 2001 Changwon and the other two are in 1993 and 2003. The national team now ranks 32nd in the FIVB World Rankings and their current head coach is Im Do-heon.

The K League All-Star Game is an annual association football exhibition match organised by the South Korean K League. The inaugural match was held in 1991.

Kim Jong-boo is a South Korean football manager and former player. He was one of the most influential footballers in South Korea during the 1980s.

Ko Jae-wook is a former Korean footballer and football manager.

On 1 November 1988, Tongil Sports Co., Ltd. announced the organization of Ilhwa Chunma Football Club and chose Dongdaemun Stadium in Seoul as its home stadium. Then on 18 March 1989, 108 days after the announcement, the organizing ceremony was held at the Sheraton Walkerhill Hotel in Seoul. Ilhwa Chunma participated in its first season as the 6th professional football team of Korean Professional Football League.

The 2011 season was Sangju Sangmu Phoenix's tenth season in the K-League in South Korea. Sangju Sangmu Phoenix was competing in K-League, League Cup and Korean FA Cup.

Busan IPark is a South Korean professional football club based in Busan that competes in K League 2, the second tier of the South Korean football pyramid. They play their home games at Busan Asaid main Stadium.

Kim Sam-soo is a South Korean football midfielder who played for South Korea in the 1986 FIFA World Cup. He also played for Hyundai Horang-i and Lucky-Goldstar Hwangso.
