Carola Maria Häggkvist, commonly known simply as Carola, is a Swedish pop singer. She has been among Sweden's most popular performers since the early 1980s and has released albums ranging from pop and disco to hymns and folk music. Her debut album, Främling (1983), sold around one million copies and remains the biggest-selling album in Swedish music history. She has also worked as a songwriter. During her career, she has recorded many top-selling albums and singles and is referred to as Sweden's most prominent female singer. Some of her biggest hits are "Främling", "Tommy tycker om mig", "Fångad av en stormvind", "All the Reasons to Live", "I Believe in Love", "Genom allt", and "Evighet". She has released records in various languages: Swedish, Dutch, German, English, Norwegian and Japanese.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Lili & Susie</span>

Lili & Susie is a Swedish pop duo composed of the sisters Lili Päivärinta and Susie Päivärinta. They scored a number of hit singles in the late 1980s and early 1990s, their biggest hit being "Oh Mama" in 1987. Their 1987 song "Oh Mama" spent six weeks in the top five of the Swedish singles chart. They dissolved in 1993 and released a best-of compilation called The Collection 85-93 in 1994. The duo competed in the Swedish pre-selection to the Eurovision Song Contest 1989 with the song "Okey, okey", finishing 5th, at the final of Melodifestivalen 1989.

"Nu tändas tusen juleljus" is a Christian traditional Swedish language Christmas song, written in 1898 by the Swedish song text writer Emmy Köhler. Translated into English, the title literally means "Now are lit a thousand Christmas candles". The theme of the song is the gospel of the newborn Christ and specifically its aspects of domestic harmony and inner peace, brought by the lights of candles as well as of the stars above, most importantly the star of Bethlehem. It was one of the most popular Christmas songs in Sweden during the 20th century, in churches, homes and schools. Swedish pop singer Agnetha Fältskog recorded the song on her album "Nu tändas tusen juleljus", named after the song, with her daughter Linda Ulvaeus.

<i>Sune</i> (book series) Swedish childrens-youth book series by Anders Jacobsson and Sören Olsson

The Sune series is a series of books for children and young adults, published since 1984, by Swedish writers Anders Jacobsson and Sören Olsson. The stories were originally 90 episodes made for the Swedish Radio and broadcast in 1983–93. The stories are set in the fictional town of Glimmerdagg in central Sweden, situated "somewhere between Karlskoga and Örebro", with the Söderskolan for children age 7-13. The books are written in a present tense, third-person narrative and using imperfect for flashback scenes.

Sunes jul was the 1991 SVT Christmas calendar. In 2004, it was later released to DVD. In 2007, it was voted the third best Julkalender ever in Aftonbladet. It is based on the books series about the boy Sune by Anders Jacobsson and Sören Olsson.

"Jul, jul, strålande jul" is a Christmas song with lyrics written by Edvard Evers and music composed by Gustaf Nordqvist. It was published in 1921.

Its lyrics tell the story of a man who tries to find a place to hide himself and his beleaguered girlfriend from those who abuse her. The song ends with a sequence of very high notes.
