The Continental Cup 19992000 was the third edition of the IIHF Continental Cup. The season started on September 24, 1999, and finished on December 28, 1999.

IIHF Continental Cup ice hockey competition

The Continental Cup is an ice hockey tournament for European clubs, begun in 1997 after the discontinuing of the European Cup. It was intended for teams from countries without representatives in the European Hockey League, with participating teams chosen by the countries' respective ice hockey associations. Hans Dobida served as chairman of the Continental Cup until 2018.

Contents

The tournament was won by HC Ambrì-Piotta, who won the final group.

HC Ambrì-Piotta

Hockey Club Ambrì-Piotta is a Swiss professional ice hockey club and a member of the National League (NL). The club was founded September 19, 1937 and is also known as "Bianco-Blu". Though they have never won the league championship, the club has not been relegated to the Swiss League since being promoted in 1985, the same year that saw the arrival of Dale McCourt.

HC Košice ice hockey team

Hockey Club Košice is a professional ice hockey team playing in the Slovak Extraliga and is the most successful hockey team in Slovakia and the former of Czechoslovakia. The team is nicknamed Oceliari, which means Steelers in English.

HC Plzeň

HC Škoda Plzeň is a professional Czech ice hockey team based in Plzeň, Czech Republic. It currently plays in the Czech Extraliga. Their home arena is Home Monitoring Aréna. The traditional ice hockey club was founded in 1929. In 2013, for the first time in history, HC Plzeň were the Czech Extraliga champions after beating Zlín 4:3 in the seventh match of the dramatic final.

VEU Feldkirch ice hockey team

VEU Feldkirch is a professional ice hockey team from Feldkirch, Austria at Vorarlberghalle. The team currently plays in the Inter-National League. VEU Feldkirch were nine-time Austrian ice hockey champions when they played in the higher level Austrian Hockey League, before being relegated. Their biggest success was the win of the European Hockey League in 1998 with its coach Ralph Krueger.
