Thomas Joseph O'Boyle was an American football player, coach, scout, and college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at Southwest Missouri State College—now known as Missouri State University—from 1947 to 1948 and at Tulane University from 1962 to 1965, compiling a career college football coaching record of 22–37–2. At Southwest Missouri State he was also the school's athletic director. O'Boyle later worked an assistant coach and scout for the Kansas City Chiefs of the American Football League (AFL) and the National Football League (NFL).

The 1998 Tulane Green Wave football team represented Tulane University in the 1998 NCAA Division I-A football season. The Green Wave finished with a record of 12 wins and no losses, one of only two NCAA Division I-A teams to complete the season undefeated, the other being the BCS champion Tennessee Volunteers. It was the third undefeated and untied season in school history.

The 1979 Tulane Green Wave football team represented Tulane University in the 1979 NCAA Division I-A football season. The team was led by Larry Smith. The Green Wave played home games in the Louisiana Superdome. The team finished with a record of 9–3 and played in the 1979 Liberty Bowl, losing 6–9 to Penn State.

The 1980 Tulane Green Wave football team represented Tulane University in the 1980 NCAA Division I-A football season. The team was led by first-year coach Vince Gibson. The Green Wave played home games in the Louisiana Superdome and finished with a 7–5 record, losing to Arkansas 15–34 in the Hall of Fame Classic. In the 78th edition of the Battle for the Flag, Tulane lost 7–24 to LSU. Throughout the season the offense scored 279 points, while the defense allowed 243 points. Two members of the Green Wave team were drafted into the National Football League (NFL).

Christopher Joseph Scelfo is an American football coach. He was most recently the offensive line coach for the DC Defenders of the XFL. He was the offensive line coach and run-game coordinator for the Arizona Hotshots of the Alliance of American Football, having previously served in a similar position with the Houston Cougars and Charlotte 49ers. He previously served as the tight ends coach for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL). He served as head coach at Tulane from 1998 to 2006, including in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and amassed a 37–57 record. He previously held assistant coaching positions at Marshall and Georgia.

Ernie Blandin American football player (1919–1968)

Ernest Elmer Blandin was a professional American football tackle who played six seasons for the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Colts in the National Football League (NFL) and All-America Football Conference (AAFC). Blandin was a standout as a tackle at Tulane University and earned All-America honors in 1941, his senior year. Blandin was drafted to play for the Philadelphia Eagles, but he instead joined the military and served in the Pacific theater of World War II. Upon his discharge, he signed with the Browns of the AAFC and played on the team for two seasons. The Browns won the league championship in both of those years. Blandin was then sent to the Colts, where he remained through the 1950 season. He played one more year of professional football in 1953.

Led by first-year head coach Henry Frnka, the Green Wave played their home games at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans. The 2003 Tulane Green Wave football team represented Tulane University in the 2003 NCAA Division I-A football season. The Green Wave played their home games at the Louisiana Superdome. They competed in Conference USA. The team was coached by head coach Chris Scelfo.

Ralph Milton Wenzel was an American football player and officer in the United States Marine Corps. He was a first-team All-American at Tulane University in 1939, playing at the end position. He later played for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the National Football League during the 1942 season while awaiting assignment to active duty in the Marine Corps.
