The 2002 ACC Trophy was a cricket tournament held from 10 to 21 July 2002 in Singapore. It gave Associate and Affiliate members of the Asian Cricket Council experience of international one-day cricket and also helped form an essential part of regional rankings.
The tournament was won by the United Arab Emirates, who defeated Nepal in the final by six wickets. This was the UAE's second consecutive title.

The ten teams were divided into two groups of five, with the top two from each group qualifying for the semi-finals.

The Nepal men's national cricket team represents the country of Nepal in International cricket and is governed by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). They are Associate Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1996. Nepal were awarded Twenty20 International (T20I) status by the ICC in June 2014 until the 2015 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier and earned One Day International (ODI) status in 2018.

On 24 April 2019, Oman achieved One-Day International status for the first time until 2023, after they beat tournament hosts Namibia by four wickets in 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two.

Basanta Regmi is a Nepalese professional cricketer. An all-rounder, he bats left-handed batsman and is a left-arm orthodox spinner. He made his debut for Nepal against Namibia in March 2006. He was one of the eleven cricketers to play in Nepal's first ever One Day International (ODI) match, against the Netherlands, in August 2018.
The Tuanku Ja'afar Cup was a cricket tournament contested by the national sides of Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. It is named in honour of the late Tuanku Jaafar, the former Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan and Yang di-Pertuan Agong between 1994 and 1999.
Mehboob Alam is a Nepalese cricketer. An all-rounder Mehboob bats left-handed and is a left-arm fast bowler. He made his debut for Nepal against Japan in November 2000.
Shakti Prasad Gauchan is a Nepalese former professional cricketer. An all-rounder, Shakti is a right-handed batsman and a left-arm orthodox spinner. He made his debut for Nepal against Oman in July 2002. In July 2018, he announced that he would retire from international cricket after the conclusion of Netherlands tour. In August 2018, he retired after playing the first ODI of the tour. In December 2018, he retired from all forms of cricket.
The 2008 ACC Trophy Elite was a cricket tournament in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, taking place between 25 July and 3 August 2008. It gives Associate and Affiliate members of the Asian Cricket Council experience of international one-day cricket and also forms part of the regional qualifications for the ICC World Cricket League
The 2009 Friends Provident Trophy was an English county cricket tournament held between 19 April and 25 July 2009. The competition was won by Hampshire Hawks who beat the Sussex Sharks by 6 wickets at Lord's.

The 1998 ACC Trophy was a cricket tournament in Nepal, taking place from 3 October to 13 October 1998. It gave Associate and Affiliate members of the Asian Cricket Council experience of international one-day cricket and also helped form an essential part of regional rankings. The tournament was won by Bangladesh who defeated Malaysia in the final by 8 wickets. This would be Bangladesh's final ACC Trophy title prior to their elevation to Test status in 2000.

The tournament was won by Bangladesh who defeated the UAE in the final by 108 runs.
The 2002 Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy was an English limited overs county cricket tournament which was held between 29 August 2001 and 31 August 2002. It was the second Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy, following its change of name from the NatWest Trophy. The tournament was won by Yorkshire who defeated Somerset by 6 wickets in the final at Lord's.
Hammadullah Khan is a Pakistani-born Malaysian cricketer. A right-handed batsman, he played five limited overs matches for Islamabad in 2002. Emigrating to Malaysia, he made his debut for the Malaysian national side at the 2011 World Cricket League Division Six tournament, and has since played for the side in several one-day and Twenty20 competitions.
Sibtain Raza Shah is a cricketer who plays for the Kuwait national cricket team. Born in Kuwait, Sibtain was raised in Pakistan, and played two seasons in Pakistani domestic tournaments for Lahore-based sides. He made his debut for the Kuwaiti national side in the 2002 ACC Trophy, aged 16, and has played regularly for the team since then. In 2020 Sibtain signed for GMCL club Woodbank Cricket Club, whose 3rd team also won the GMCL Sunday Plate in the same year, under captain, in his debut season, Aidan Allcock.
The 2018 Asia Cup Qualifier was a cricket tournament that was held in Malaysia from 29 August to 6 September 2018. The event served as the qualifier for the 2018 Asia Cup. The top two teams from the group stage met in the final, with the winner progressing to the 2018 Asia Cup. The fixture between the United Arab Emirates and Nepal on 30 August 2018 was a One Day International (ODI) match. It was the first time both sides had played each other in an ODI match, with the UAE going on to win the fixture by 78 runs.
