National team

Four members of the San Miguel Beermen namely Danny Seigle, Olsen Racela, two-time MVP Danny Ildefonso and newly acquired Dondon Hontiveros from the defunct Tanduay ballclub were chosen to comprised the 15-man lineup of the Philippine national team that will participate in the Asian Games in Busan, South Korea in October. SMB coach Jong Uichico was given the tasks to handle the nationals. Assistant coach Siot Tanquingcen takes over the coaching chores of the Beermen on an interim basis. During the Governor's Cup, Danny Seigle, Olsen Racela and Dondon Hontiveros played for Philippine team-Selecta while Danny Ildefonso played for Philippine team-Hapee Toothpaste.

Occurrences

The July 11 game between San Miguel and Red Bull at the Cuneta Astrodome had a bench-clearing incident in which 13 players of San Miguel and 11 from Red Bull were fined P10,000 by the Commissioner's office, the melee started during the third quarter when Beermen import Art Long threw a punch on Red Bull import Tony Lang, who retaliated with a shove, both imports were thrown out and when Lang was ushered out, he confronted the SMB import upon entering the locker room but was stopped by a female security officer. [1]

Danny Seigle never played a single game for the Beermen in the season after his stint with the national training pool when he suffered a torn right Achilles tendon.

San Miguel Beermen Philippine professional basketball team

The San Miguel Beermen are a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). It is one of three PBA clubs owned by the San Miguel Corporation group of companies along with the Magnolia Hotshots and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel. It is the most successful franchise in the history of the PBA and the only remaining original franchise in the league. The Beermen currently lead the league with the most titles (27) and the most all-time victories. In addition, it has won the Grand Slam in 1989 and the Perpetual Jun Bernardino Trophy after winning three straight PBA Philippine Cups from 2015 to 2017. Barako Bull Energy Boosters Basketball team

The Barako Bull Energy Boosters were a professional basketball team of the Philippine Basketball Association owned by the Photokina Marketing Corporation. They entered the league in 2000 after a successful stint in the semi-professional Philippine Basketball League during the late 1990s under the name Agfa Color where the team won a championship in 1996. It was originally known as Red Bull Barako before the team announced its name change.

Danny Seigle Filipino-American basketball player

Daniel Charles Seigle is a Filipino-American basketball coach and retired player. He is the head coach of the De La Salle Green Archers men's basketball team and a team consultant for the San Miguel Alab Pilipinas of the ASEAN Basketball League. He last played for the TNT KaTropa of the Philippine Basketball Association. He won the 1999 PBA Rookie of the Year and led San Miguel to six championships during his career. He is also a two-time member of the Philippine national basketball team.

As part of the new league format, the season was preceded with a transition conference known as the 2004 PBA Fiesta Conference.

Paul Anthony Dy Artadi is a Filipino politician, basketball coach, and former professional player. On his eleven-year career in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), he played the point guard position and was a three-time PBA All-Star. In the collegiate level, he played for the University of the East (UE) and became an assistant coach for the team after retiring from the professional game. He has been serving as a city councilor of San Juan, Metro Manila since 2016.

Danilo Ildefonso is a Filipino former professional basketball player. He is currently an assistant coach for both the Converge FiberXers of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) and the NU Bulldogs of the UAAP. Nicknamed "Danny I", "The Demolition Man" and "Lakáy", Ildefonso is a two-time PBA Most Valuable Player in 2000 and 2001 and is one of the four players to win the said award on back-to-back seasons, along with Bogs Adornado, Alvin Patrimonio, and June Mar Fajardo. He also one of the few PBA players to have won all three major MVP awards in the league: regular season, finals, and all-star game MVP. He was picked 1st overall in the 1998 PBA draft and the 2014 PBA Expansion Draft, becoming the only player in the PBA to be drafted first-overall two times and being drafted first-overall in the draft and the expansion draft.

The tournament started on October 4, 2008 and ended on February 11, 2009. The new conference will have games on Thursdays and Saturdays. The tournament is an All-Filipino format, which bans an import or a pure-foreign player for each team.

The 2010–11 PBA season was the 36th season of the Philippine Basketball Association. It started on October 3, 2010 and ended on August 21, 2011. The season marked the return of the original three-conference format, starting with the Philippine Cup, or the traditional All-Filipino Conference. The import-laden Commissioner's Cup returned as the second tournament, while the Governors' Cup also returned, serving as the third conference which also served as an import-laden tournament.
