The 2003 LNBP was the 4th season of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional, one of the professional basketball leagues of Mexico. It started on July 29, 2003 and ended on December 13, 2003. [4] The league title was won by Panteras de Aguascalientes, which defeated La Ola Roja del Distrito Federal in the championship series, 4–2.

The playoffs were played between November 18 and December 13, 2003. [4]
In 2003, two All-Star Games were played. The first game was played in Fresnillo on September 21 and was won by the Foreigners team, 134–112. The second game was played in Matamoros and saw the Foreigners win, 117–90. [8]

Víctor Manuel Ávila Haro is a Mexican professional basketball player currently with the CIBACOPA team Caballeros de Culiacán. Since the CIBACOPA takes place for only a few months a year, Avila also plays for Halcones UV Xalapa in the LNBP. Throughout his career, Avila has played professional basketball in the United States, Mexico, Czech Republic and Puerto Rico. He has represented Mexico’s national basketball team on many occasions.
The Club Deportivo La Ola del Distrito Federal, also known simply as La Ola or La Ola Roja were a professional basketball team based in Mexico City. The team participated in the first edition of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional in 2000, and reached the championship game in 2003, losing to Panteras de Aguascalientes.

The season began on July 12 and ended on October 28, 2022 with Abejas de León got the championship sweep of 4–0 series win over Astros de Jalisco, giving Abejas their 1st Title.
The Leones Anáhuac Cancún represents the Universidad Anáhuac Cancún (UAC) in college football. The Leones compete in the Conferencia Nacional of ONEFA and have won two Conferencia Nacional Championships: in 2009 and 2019. The team plays in the Estadio Coliseo Maya and is coached by Jorge Jiménez Aréchiga.

The league began with four charter members from Sinaloa and Durango but has since grown to include teams from across the country.
