Kateryna Bondarenko defeated Ana Ivanovic in the final, 6–4, 6–7(2–7), 6–2 to win the girls' singles tennis title at the 2004 Wimbledon Championships. [1]
This Wimbledon Girls' Singles event featured four future singles world No. 1 players, in Ana Ivanovic, Caroline Wozniacki, Victoria Azarenka and Angelique Kerber. During the tournament, there were two clashes between them, with Azarenka defeating Kerber at an early stage and then losing in the semifinals to Ivanovic.

Ana Ivanovic won her first and only Grand Slam singles title, beating first-time finalist Dinara Safina, 6–4, 6–3 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2008 French Open. Ivanovic became the new WTA singles No. 1 by reaching the final. Maria Sharapova, Jelena Janković and Svetlana Kuznetsova were also in contention for the No. 1 ranking at the start of the tournament. Ivanovic dropped only one set the entire tournament, to her compatriot Janković in the semifinals. This marked the last time Ivanovic would reach a Grand Slam quarterfinal for four and a half years until she reached the quarterfinals of the 2012 US Open, a span of 18 Grand Slam tournaments.
Maria Sharapova defeated Ana Ivanovic 7–5, 6–3, in the final to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2008 Australian Open, without losing a set the entire tournament, or facing a tiebreak in any set throughout the tournament. This was her third Grand Slam singles title and her first and only Australian Open. She was also the first Russian woman to win this tournament. Ivanovic lost in a Grand Slam final for the second time, though she would eventually win the French Open a few months later.
Defending champion Venus Williams successfully defended her title, defeating her sister Serena Williams in the final, 7–5, 6–4 to win the ladies' singles tennis title at the 2008 Wimbledon Championships. It was Venus' fifth Wimbledon title and her seventh major singles title overall. She won the title without losing a set, the second time she did so at a major.
Cara Black and Liezel Huber were the defending champions but lost in the semifinals to Lisa Raymond and Samantha Stosur.
Serena Williams defeated Jelena Janković in the final, 6–4, 7–5 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2008 US Open. It was her third US Open singles title and ninth major singles title overall. With the win, she regained the world No. 1 singles ranking for the first time since 2003. This was also her second US Open and third major overall won without losing a set during the tournament. Three of the top four seeds were in contention for the No. 1 ranking at the start of the tournament.
Defending champion Serena Williams defeated Vera Zvonareva in the final, 6–3, 6–2 to win the ladies' singles tennis title at the 2010 Wimbledon Championships. It was her fourth Wimbledon singles title and 13th major singles title overall. She did not lose a set during the tournament. Zvonareva reached her first ever major singles final, and became the second lowest-ranked woman to contest a Wimbledon singles final.
Caroline Wozniacki was the defending champion, but was defeated in the fourth round by Ana Ivanovic.
Victoria Azarenka was the defending champion but lost to Marion Bartoli in the quarterfinals, which ended Azarenka's 26 match winning streak to start the 2012 season.
Serena Williams defeated Agnieszka Radwańska in the final, 6–1, 5–7, 6–2 to win the ladies' singles tennis title at the 2012 Wimbledon Championships. It was her fifth Wimbledon singles title and her 14th major singles title overall. Radwańska became the first Pole to reach a major singles final in the Open Era.

Serena Williams defeated Victoria Azarenka in the final, 6–2, 2–6, 7–5 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2012 US Open. Azarenka served for the championship and led 5–3 in the third set. It was the first time since 1995 that the final went to three sets. With the victory, Williams became only the third woman in history to win Wimbledon, the Olympics, and the US Open in the same season after Steffi Graf and her sister Venus Williams. Williams lost only one set during the tournament, to Azarenka in the final.
Victoria Azarenka was the defending champion, and successfully defended her title, defeating Li Na in the final 4–6, 6–4, 6–3 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2013 Australian Open.
Ana Ivanovic was the defending champion, but lost in the second round to Michelle Larcher de Brito.
Serena Williams defeated Garbiñe Muguruza in the final, 6–4, 6–4 to win the ladies' singles tennis title at the 2015 Wimbledon Championships. It was her sixth Wimbledon singles title and her 21st singles major title overall. With the win, Williams also completed her second non-calendar year Grand Slam, having won the 2014 US Open, 2015 Australian Open and 2015 French Open. Also, this was the first time since 2002 that a woman completed the Channel Slam, Williams herself being the last player to do so.
Angelique Kerber defeated the defending champion Serena Williams in the final, 6–4, 3–6, 6–4 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2016 Australian Open. She became the first woman to win a singles major title after having saved a match point in the first round, which she did against Misaki Doi. She also became the first German to win a major since Steffi Graf at the 1999 French Open. Williams was attempting to equal Graf's Open Era record of 22 career major singles titles. Williams' loss in the final ended her 8-match winning streak in major finals.
Simona Halep was the defending champion, but lost in the quarterfinals to Serena Williams.
Garbiñe Muguruza won her second Grand Slam singles title, defeating Venus Williams in the final, 7–5, 6–0 to win the ladies' singles tennis title at the 2017 Wimbledon Championships. Muguruza became the second Spanish woman to win Wimbledon after Conchita Martínez in 1994. Muguruza also became the first and only player to defeat both Williams sisters in Grand Slam singles finals. Muguruza dropped just one set the entire tournament, to Angelique Kerber in the fourth round. Serena Williams was the two-time defending champion, but did not participate this year due to pregnancy.
Elena Vesnina was the defending champion, but lost in the third round to Angelique Kerber.
The 2004 French Open girls' singles tournament was an event during the 2004 French Open tennis tournament. Anna-Lena Grönefeld was the defending champion, but did not compete in the Juniors in this year.
Alisa Kleybanova and Sania Mirza were the defending champions, but Mirza did not compete in the Juniors this year. Kleybanova competed with Irina Kotkina but they lost in the quarterfinals to Marina Erakovic and Monica Niculescu.
