The final was played on 27 November 2005 at Páirc Uí Rinn in Cork, between Erin's Own and O'Donovan Rossa, in what was their first ever meeting in the final. [1] Erin's Own won the match by 1–12 to 1–11 to claim their second championship title overall and a first title in 11 years. [2] [3] [4]

Erin's Own GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Glounthaune, County Cork, Ireland. The club fields teams in hurling, Gaelic football, camogie and ladies football.

The Cork Junior A Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition organised by the Cork County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the top-ranking junior clubs in the county of Cork in Ireland. It is the sixth tier overall in the entire Cork football championship system.

Michael McCarthy was an Irish Gaelic footballer. At club level he played with O'Donovan Rossa and divisional side Carbery and was also a member of the Cork senior football team.

The 2020 Cork Senior A Football Championship was the inaugural staging of the Cork Senior A Football Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board. The draw for the group stage placings took place on 19 November 2019. The championship was scheduled to begin in April 2020, however, it was postponed indefinitely due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Gaelic games. The championship eventually began on 24 July 2020 and, after being suspended once again on 5 October 2020, eventually concluded on 19 June 2021.
