Xavier Malisse Belgian tennis player

Xavier Malisse is a Belgian professional tennis player. Born in the north-western Flemish city of Kortrijk and nicknamed X-Man, he is one of only two men's players from Belgium to have been ranked in the top 20 of the ATP tour, with a career-high singles ranking of World No. 19.

Juan Carlos Ferrero defeated Martin Verkerk in the final, 6–1, 6–3, 6–2 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2003 French Open.

Pete Sampras won his record-extending 14th and final major title, defeating his rival Andre Agassi in the final to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2002 US Open. The final was a rematch of the 1990 and 1995 US Open finals, where Sampras won his first and seventh Major titles, respectively.
