The NAB AFL Rising Star award is given annually to a stand out young player in the Australian Football League. [1] The 2006 medal was won by Port Adelaide player Danyle Pearce. [2]

Eligibility

Every round, an Australian Football League rising star nomination is given to a stand out young player. To be eligible for the award, a player must be under 21 on 1 January of that year, have played 10 or fewer senior games and not been suspended during the season. At the end of the year, one of the 22 nominees is the winner of award. [2]

AFL Rising Star Award

The AFL Rising Star is an Australian rules football award presented annually to the player adjudged the best young player in the Australian Football League (AFL) for the year. It was first presented in the 1993 season, and was won by Nathan Buckley, playing for the Brisbane Bears. The recipient of the AFL Rising Star has been awarded the Ron Evans Medal since 2007, named in honour of the former AFL Commission chairman following his death that year.

Adam Selwood Australian rules footballer, born 1984

Adam Murray Selwood is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League (AFL). Originally from Bendigo, Victoria, Selwood played under-18 football for the Bendigo Pioneers in the TAC Cup before being recruited by West Coast in the third round of the 2002 National Draft. He made his debut for the club in 2003, and received a nomination for the AFL Rising Star two seasons later, in 2005. Alternating between midfield and defensive roles, Selwood played in West Coast's 2006 premiership win over Sydney, and also represented Australia in the 2008 International Rules Series against Ireland. He retired at the end of the 2013 season, having played 187 games for the club.

Josh Hill is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Western Bulldogs and West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League (AFL).

The NAB Rising Star award is given annually to a standout young player in the Australian Football League. This was the first time the winner was presented with the Ron Evans medal, with it being awarded annually since. The 2007 winner was Joel Selwood of the Geelong Football Club.

2010 AFL season 114th season of the Australian Football League (AFL)

The 2010 AFL season was the 114th season of the Australian Football League (AFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Australia, which was known as the Victorian Football League until 1989. The season featured sixteen clubs, ran from 25 March until 2 October, and comprised a 22-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top eight clubs.

The 2010 AFL season was the Adelaide Crows 20th season in the AFL on the back of a 5th place and a semi-final exit in the 2009 AFL season. It was Neil Craig's 7th season at the helm after taking over from Gary Ayres as coach in 2004. The captain for this season was Simon Goodwin and the leadership group consisted of Brad Symes, Scott Stevens, Nathan van Berlo, Ben Rutten, Michael Doughty, Brett Burton and Tyson Edwards.

2002 AFL Rising Star Annual award in the Australian Football League

The National AFL Rising Star award is given annually to a stand out young player in the Australian Football League. The 2002 medal was awarded to St Kilda player Nick Riewoldt.

2003 AFL Rising Star Award

The National AFL Rising Star award is given annually to a stand out young player in the Australian Football League. The 2003 medal was awarded to Hawthorn player, Sam Mitchell.

2004 AFL Rising Star Award

The National AFL Rising Star award is given annually to a stand out young player in the Australian Football League. The 2004 medal was won by Melbourne player Jared Rivers.

Tomas Bugg Australian rules footballer

Tomas Bugg is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Greater Western Sydney Giants and Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). A defender, 1.85 metres tall and weighing 84 kilograms (185 lb), Bugg was capable of playing on both the half-back line and as a midfielder. He entered top level football early when he joined the Gippsland Power in the TAC Cup as a bottom-aged player. In addition to representing Victoria in both the under 16 and under 18 championships. His performances as a junior, saw him be one of twelve players who signed with Greater Western Sydney as an underage recruit in 2010. He made his AFL debut in the 2012 season and earned a Rising Star nomination. After spending four seasons with Greater Western Sydney, playing sixty-five matches, he was traded to the Melbourne Football Club during the 2015 trade period.

The 2013 Collingwood Football Club season is the club's 117th season of senior competition in the Australian Football League (AFL). The club also fielded its reserves team in the VFL.

2014 AFL Rising Star Award

The NAB AFL Rising Star award is given annually to a stand out young player in the Australian Football League. The 2014 winner was Lewis Taylor. Taylor polled one more vote than Marcus Bontempelli, making it the closest ever count.
