The NAB AFL Rising Star award is given annually to a stand out young player in the Australian Football League. [1] The 2005 medal was won by Richmond player Brett Deledio. [2]

Eligibility

Every round, an Australian Football League rising star nomination is given to a stand out young player. To be eligible for the award, a player must be under 21 on 1 January of that year, have played 10 or fewer senior games and not been suspended during the season. At the end of the year, one of the 22 nominees is the winner of award. [2]

AFL Rising Star

The AFL Rising Star is an Australian rules football award presented annually to the player adjudged the best young player in the Australian Football League (AFL) for the year. It was first presented in the 1993 season, and was won by Nathan Buckley, playing for the Brisbane Bears. The recipient of the AFL Rising Star has been awarded the Ron Evans Medal since 2007, named in honour of the former AFL Commission chairman following his death that year.

Brett Edward Deledio is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played 243 games over 12 seasons with the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL), and a further 32 matches over three seasons with the Greater Western Sydney Giants. He was a two-time All-Australian, two-time Richmond best and fairest winner and recipient of the league's Rising Star award in his debut year in 2005. Between 2013 and 2016, he served as Richmond's vice-captain. Deledio was drafted to Richmond with the number one overall pick in the 2004 AFL draft and made his debut in round 1 of the 2005 season.

Adam Selwood Australian rules footballer, born 1984

Adam Murray Selwood is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League (AFL). Originally from Bendigo, Victoria, Selwood played under-18 football for the Bendigo Pioneers in the TAC Cup before being recruited by West Coast in the third round of the 2002 National Draft. He made his debut for the club in 2003, and received a nomination for the AFL Rising Star two seasons later, in 2005. Alternating between midfield and defensive roles, Selwood played in West Coast's 2006 premiership win over Sydney, and also represented Australia in the 2008 International Rules Series against Ireland. He retired at the end of the 2013 season, having played 187 games for the club.

The NAB AFL Rising Star award is given annually to a stand out young player in the Australian Football League. The 2006 medal was won by Port Adelaide player Danyle Pearce.

Joel Anthony Selwood is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Geelong Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).

The NAB Rising Star award is given annually to a standout young player in the Australian Football League. This was the first time the winner was presented with the Ron Evans medal, with it being awarded annually since. The 2007 winner was Joel Selwood of the Geelong Football Club.

2008 AFL Rising Star

The NAB AFL Rising Star award is given annually to a stand out young player in the Australian Football League. The 2008 Ron Evans medal was given to Rhys Palmer from the Fremantle Football Club.

Liam Picken

Liam Picken is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL) from 2009 to 2017. In 2016 he played in the Bulldogs' premiership team. He hails originally from the western Victorian town of Hamilton.

2010 AFL season

The 2010 Australian Football League season commenced on 25 March 2010 and concluded on 2 October 2010. It was the 114th season of the elite Australian rules football competition and the 21st under the name 'Australian Football League', having switched from 'Victorian Football League' after 1989. The premiership was won by Collingwood, who defeated St Kilda by 56 points in the Grand Final Replay, which was played after the first Grand Final was drawn. Collingwood's win marked the 15th VFL/AFL premiership in the club's history.

The National AFL Rising Star award is given annually to a stand out young player in the Australian Football League. The 2002 medal was awarded to St Kilda player Nick Riewoldt.

2003 AFL Rising Star

The National AFL Rising Star award is given annually to a stand out young player in the Australian Football League. The 2003 medal was awarded to Hawthorn player, Sam Mitchell.

2010 AFL Rising Star

The NAB AFL Rising Star award is given annually to a stand out young player in the Australian Football League. The 2010 Ron Evans Medal was awarded to Dan Hannebery of the Sydney Swans.

The 2011 Geelong Football Club season was the club's 112th season in the Australian Football League (AFL). Geelong finished the regular season in second position on the ladder with 19 wins and three losses, resulting in qualification for the 2011 AFL finals series. Geelong then proceeded to win its qualifying and preliminary finals in succession to earn a place in the 2011 AFL Grand Final, where it defeated the minor premiers Collingwood to claim the AFL Premiership.

2011 AFL Rising Star

The NAB AFL Rising Star award is given annually to a stand out young player in the Australian Football League. The 2011 award was won by Dyson Heppell of the Essendon Football Club, who received the Ron Evans Medal.

2013 AFL Rising Star

The NAB AFL Rising Star award is given annually to a stand out young player in the Australian Football League. The winner for 2013 was Jaeger O'Meara.

2014 AFL Rising Star

The NAB AFL Rising Star award is given annually to a stand out young player in the Australian Football League. The 2014 winner was Lewis Taylor. Taylor polled one more vote than Marcus Bontempelli, making it the closest ever count.
