Defending champion Justine Henin-Hardenne defeated Svetlana Kuznetsova in the final, 6–4, 6–4 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2006 French Open. It was her third French Open title. She won the title without losing a set during the tournament, or without facing a tiebreak in any set.
Amélie Mauresmo defeated Justine Henin-Hardenne in the final, 2–6, 6–3, 6–4 to win the ladies' singles tennis title at the 2006 Wimbledon Championships. It was her second major title, having won the Australian Open earlier in the year. Mauresmo also became the first Frenchwoman to win Wimbledon since Suzanne Lenglen in 1925. Henin-Hardenne was attempting to complete the career Grand Slam.
Cara Black and Liezel Huber were the defending champions, but did not play together. Black partnered with Rennae Stubbs and Huber partnered with Martina Navratilova but both pairs lost to Yan Zi and Zheng Jie, in the semifinals and quarterfinals respectively.
Maria Sharapova defeated Justine Henin-Hardenne in the final, 6–4, 6–4 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2006 US Open. It was her second major title. She lost just one set during the tournament. By reaching the final, Henin-Hardenne became the eighth woman to reach all four major finals in a calendar year.
Ana Ivanovic defeated Svetlana Kuznetsova in the final, 3–6, 6–4, 7–6(7–4) to win the singles tennis title at the 2007 WTA German Open.

She did not lose a set during the tournament, and became the second woman to achieve the Sunshine Double. Clijsters became the lowest-ranked player to win the title, doing so as the world No. 38.

Svetlana Kuznetsova defeated Maria Sharapova in the final, 6–4, 6–3 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2006 Miami Open. It was her first Tier I title and sixth overall, and her first title of any kind since September 2004.

Caroline Wozniacki defeated Elena Dementieva in the final, 1–6, 6–2, 6–3 to win the singles tennis title at the 2010 Pan Pacific Open. It was Dementieva's last WTA Tour singles final before her retirement from the sport later that year.
Caroline Wozniacki defeated Svetlana Kuznetsova in the final, 6–1, 6–3 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2011 Dubai Tennis Championships. Although Wozniacki had lost the world No. 1 singles ranking to Kim Clijsters the previous week, she reclaimed the spot by defeating Shahar Pe'er in the quarterfinals.
Maria Sharapova defeated Samantha Stosur in the final, 6–2, 6–4 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2011 Italian Open. It was her 23rd career title, and her first in almost a year.
