Jonas Björkman and Todd Woodbridge were the two-time defending champions but did not play together. Björkman partnered with Max Mirnyi and Woodbridge partnered with Mahesh Bhupathi but both pairs lost to Stephen Huss and Wesley Moodie, in the semifinals and the second round respectively.
Lukáš Dlouhý and Michal Mertiňák were the defending champions, but Dlouhy chose not to participate, and only Mertinak competed that year.
Mertinak partnered with Petr Pála, and won in the final 2–6, 6–3, [10–5], against Carlos Berlocq and Fabio Fognini.
Michaël Llodra and Fabrice Santoro defeated Leander Paes and Nenad Zimonjić in the final, 6–7(6–8), 6–3, 7–6(7–4) to win the doubles tennis title at the 2005 Tennis Masters Cup.
