The 2007 Campeonato Sudamericano Copa América, known simply as the 2007 Copa América or 2007 Copa América Venezuela, was the 42nd edition of the Copa América, the South-American championship for international association football teams. The competition was organized by CONMEBOL, South America's football governing body, and was held between 26 June and 15 July in Venezuela, which hosted the tournament for the first time.
The Estadio Cachamay is part of the Centro Total de Entretenimiento Cachamay. It is a multipurpose stadium located on Avenida Guayana in Puerto Ordaz Bolivar State, Venezuela. The old stadium was opened in 1980 and subjected to an expansion, modernization and remodeling over the years 1990 and 2006–2007, which involved the demolition of some parts and redesign of its structure to point to double its capacity before 2006, being one of the 9 host stadiums of the 2007 Copa América, when it reopened as Cachamay CTE. It is set in grounds with beautiful natural landscapes, surrounded by the mighty river Caroni and waterfalls Cachamay Park. The sports center is managed by the Cachamay Foundation, with home court advantage for soccer teams AC Mineros de Guayana and AC Minervén FC Bolivar. The CTE is known popularly as Cachamay Stadium.
The South American zone of 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification saw ten teams competing for places in the finals in South Africa. The format is identical to that used for the previous three World Cup qualification tournaments held by CONMEBOL. Matches were scheduled so that there were always two games within a week, which was aimed at minimizing player travel time, particularly for players who were based in Europe.
The First Stage of the 2008 Copa Santander Libertadores began on January 29 and ended on February 12. Twelve teams qualified directly on this stage.
The 2009South American Youth Championship was a football competition for national teams U-20 who are associated with the football federation CONMEBOL. It was the 24th time the tournament was held and took place in Venezuela from 19 January to 8 February. It also served as qualification for the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Brazil won the tournament, becoming champions for the tenth time.
The 2009South American Under-17 Football Championship was a football competition for U-17 national teams affiliated with CONMEBOL. It was the 13th time the tournament was held. The tournament took place in Chile from 17 April to 9 May.
The 2009 season is the 87th season of competitive football in Ecuador.
The 2007 season is the 85th season of competitive football in Ecuador.
The South American Zone of 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification saw nine teams competing for 4 or 5 berths in the finals. Brazil automatically qualified for the World Cup as the host nation so were not involved in CONMEBOL qualifying. Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador and Uruguay advanced to the World Cup.

The first stage of the 2013 Copa Libertadores de América was played from January 22 to January 31, 2013. A total of 12 teams competed in the first stage.
The second stage of the 2013 Copa Libertadores de América was played from February 12 to April 18, 2013. A total of 32 teams competed in the second stage.
The elimination phase of the 2013 Copa Sudamericana was played from July 30 to September 5, 2013. A total of 46 teams competed in the elimination phase.
The elimination phase of the 2014 Copa Sudamericana was played from August 19 to September 24, 2014. A total of 46 teams competed in the elimination phase.
The 2015 Copa Libertadores second stage was played from February 17 to April 22, 2015. A total of 32 teams competed in the second stage to decide the 16 places in the final stages of the 2015 Copa Libertadores.
Group B of the 2007 Copa América was one of the three groups of competing nations in the 2007 Copa América. It comprised Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, and invitee Mexico. The group matches ran from 27 June to 4 July 2007.
The 1993 Copa Libertadores group stage was played from 3 February to 26 March 1996. A total of 20 teams competed in the group stage to decide 15 places in the final stages of the 1993 Copa Libertadores, where they joined defending champions São Paulo.
