The tournament was held in Uruguay between 4 and 28 January 2003, it was the 21st time the competition has been held and the second to take place in Uruguay. Argentina won their fourth trophy.

The Argentina women's national under-20 football team is the representative of Argentina in FIFA sponsored tournaments that pertain to that age level.
