The Chile Olympic football team (also known as Chile under-23, Chile U-23) represents Chile in international football competitions at the Olympic Games and Pan American Games. Since the 1992 tournament, the team is limited to players under the age of 23, except three overage players. The team is controlled by the Federación de Fútbol de Chile (FFCh). Combined with pre-1992 tournaments, Chile has qualified on four occasions to the Summer Olympics, winning a bronze medal in 2000. [1]

The Chile national football team, nicknamed La Roja, represents Chile in men's international football competitions and is controlled by the Federación de Fútbol de Chile which was established in 1895. Chile has appeared in nine World Cup tournaments and were hosts of the 1962 FIFA World Cup where they finished in third place, the highest position the country has ever achieved in the World Cup.
The Uruguay national under-23 football team represents Uruguay in under-23 international football competitions such as the Olympic Games, CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament and Pan American Games. The selection is limited to players under the age of 23, except three overage players. The team is controlled by the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF).
The 2004 CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament was an international football tournament held in Chile from 7 to 25 January 2004. The ten national teams involved in the tournament were required to register a squad of 20 players, of which two had to be goalkeepers. Only players in these squads are eligible to take part in the tournament. The tournament exclusively required players to be born on or after 1 January 1981 to be eligible.

Only players in these squads are eligible to take part in the tournament. The tournament exclusively requires players to be born on or after 1 January 2001 to be eligible, that is, they must be a maximum of 23 years old by the end of the calendar year in which the competition is played.
