The 1997 FIFA World Youth Championship, known as the 1997 FIFA/Coca-Cola World Youth Championship for sponsorship purposes, was the 11th staging of the FIFA World Youth Championship. It was held from 16 June to 5 July 1997 in Malaysia. It was the first FIFA tournament hosted by a Southeast Asian country.

The 2007 Champions Youth Cup was the first and only staging of the Champions Youth Cup, a proposed annual football tournament. It was supported by the G-14 group and was intended to be a Club World Championship for the Under-19 teams of some of the world's largest clubs. It took place in Malaysia from 5 August to 19 August 2007. It featured sixteen teams: eleven European teams, two teams from South America, a host invitee team from Europe, a host invitee team from Asia and the U-19 national team of the tournament hosts, Malaysia. Each match lasted only 70 minutes, and, in the event of a draw in the knockout stage, there was no extra time. A second edition of the tournament, was planned for August 2008. However it was canceled in June, two months before the start, because of a dispute between the Football Association of Malaysia and the Gifted Group, the tournament organizers.
The 2010 Malaysia Cup was the 84th edition of the Malaysia Cup. The competition began on 14 September 2010 and concluded on 30 October 2010 with the final, held at National Stadium, Bukit Jalil. A total of 16 teams took part in the competition. The teams were divided into 4 groups of 4 teams. The group leaders and runners-up teams in the groups after 6 matches qualified to the quarterfinals.
The 2011 Malaysia Cup was the 85th edition of the Malaysia Cup. The soccer competition began on 6 September 2011 and concluded on 29 October 2011 with the final held at Shah Alam Stadium, Shah Alam. A total of 16 teams took part in the competition. The teams were divided into 4 groups of 4 teams, with the group leaders and runners-up after 6 matches qualifying through to the quarterfinals.

The 2017 Malaysia FA Cup was the 28th season of the Malaysia FA Cup a knockout competition for Malaysia's state football association and clubs. The final was played between Pahang and Kedah at the Shah Alam Stadium in Shah Alam, Selangor. Kedah beat Pahang 2–3 to win the cup for the fourth time.

The 2019 Malaysia FA Cup was the 30th edition of the Malaysia FA Cup, a knockout competition for Malaysia's state football association and clubs. The winners were assured a place for the 2020 AFC Champions League preliminary round 2.
The 2021 Malaysia Cup group stage began on 25 September and ended on 10 November 2021. A total of 16 teams competed in the group stage to decide the 8 places in the knockout stage of the 2021 Malaysia Cup.
The 2022 Malaysia FA Cup was the 32nd edition of the Malaysia FA Cup, a knockout competition for Malaysian association football clubs. The winners, if eligible, would be assured a place in the 2023–24 AFC Cup group stage. 34 teams entered the competition.
The 2022 Malaysia Cup knockout stage began on 26 October and ended on 26 November 2022 with the final at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to decide the champions of the 2022 Malaysia Cup. A total of 16 teams competed in the knockout stage, beginning with the Round 16 followed by the quarter-finals, semi-finals and the finals. This stage will be played in two legs except for the finals which is played once.
