The 2009 season of the Polish American Football League (PLFA I) was the 4th season played by the major american football league in Poland. Regular season play was held from April 5 to September 20, 2009. The Polish champion title was eventually won by the AZS Silesia Miners when they defeated The Crew Wrocław; the Polish Bowl championship game, at the Marymont stadium in Warsaw, Masovian Voivodeship on October 17. The Warsaw Eagles are an American football team in Warsaw, Poland. They play in the Polish Football League. Paul Kusmierz is the owner of the team.

In 2012, the Topliga was created as a major league with a bid (invitation) rule. The remaining teams are divided into two leagues between which there was promotion and relegation. There were two eight-man football competitions: PLFA 8 for reserve teams and smaller clubs, and PLFA J for under-17 players.
