Billed as Scream 2009, the 2009 ceremony of the Scream Awards, run by Spike TV, was the fourth annual iteration of these awards. The awards were billed as "commemorating all things sci-fi, fantasy, horror and comic book". [5] The awards ceremony was held on October 17, 2009 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles [5] [4] [1] [3] and was broadcast by Spike TV on the following Tuesday (October 27 2009 [5] [1] [2] [3] ).

Contents

Competitive categories

The Scream 2009 nominees were selected by the Advisory Board of Hollywood and Genre Leaders. [1] The advisory board included Wes Craven, Roland Emmerich, Neil Gaiman, Frank Miller, Eli Roth, and Zack Snyder etc. [1] The winners were chosen by a process of public online voting on the Spike TV website, [7] which ran up until the day of the ceremony (Saturday, October 17, 2009 [5] [1] ) where they were announced. GameTrailers TV with Geoff Keighley was a television show about video games hosted by video game journalist Geoff Keighley. Originally titled Game Head, on January 25, 2008, the show relaunched under its current name with a slightly different format and further incorporation of GameTrailers hosts, Amanda MacKay and Daniel Kayser. <i>Scream</i> (2022 film) American slasher film

Scream is a 2022 American slasher film directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, and written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. It is the fifth installment in the Scream film series and a direct sequel to Scream 4 (2011). The first in the series not directed by Wes Craven, who died in 2015, the film is dedicated to Craven at the beginning of the closing credits. The film stars Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Sonia Ammar, with Marley Shelton, Skeet Ulrich, Roger L. Jackson, Heather Matarazzo, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, and Neve Campbell reprising their roles from previous installments. The plot takes place twenty-five years after the original Woodsboro murders from Scream (1996), when yet another Ghostface appears and begins targeting a group of teenagers who are each somehow linked to the original killings.

Billed as 2011 Scream Awards, the 2011 ceremony of the Scream Awards, run by Spike TV, was the sixth and final iteration of these awards, which was run annually in prior years. The awards ceremony was held on 15 October 2011 on the Universal Studios lot in Hollywood and was broadcast by Spike TV on the following Tuesday. The discontinuance of these awards was attributed to their dwindling popularity and Spike TV's re-formatting.
