Competitive categories

The Scream 2008 nominees for each category were decided by the advisory board of Hollywood and Genre Leaders, a body which included Wes Craven, Neil Gaiman, Stephen King, Frank Miller, Eli Roth, Guillermo del Toro, Tim Kring, and Stephenie Meyer. [10] The winners were chosen by a process of public online voting on the Spike TV website, [3] and announced during the awards airing on Spike TV. [1]

This article lists the winners and nominees for the Black Reel Award for Outstanding Television Documentary or Special. This award is given to the directors and was first awarded during the 2001 ceremony. In May 2017 the category was moved from the film awards as part of the Black Reel Awards for Television honors thus resulting in two separate winners in 2017.
