Billed as Spike TV's Scream Awards 2006, [2] the 2006 ceremony of the Scream Awards, run by Spike TV, was the premier iteration of these awards, which was run annually in subsequent years. The awards ceremony was held on October 7, 2006 at the Historic Pantages Theater in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California) [2] and was broadcast by Spike TV on the following Tuesday (October 10, 2006). Competitive categories

The nominees were chosen by the advisory board of Hollywood and Genre Leaders, a body made up of respected and well-known members of the horror, sci-fi, fantasy and comic book worlds, who also advised on the award categories. [2] The advisory board included Wes Craven, David S. Goyer, Geoff Johns, R. Eric Lieb, Brian Pulido, Judd Winick, Jonathan Woods, and Rob Zombie. [2]

The winners were chosen by a process of public online voting on the Spike TV website, [7] which ran July 21, 2006 until October 6, 2006, the day before the ceremony. [2]

Ozzfest was an annual music festival tour of the United States and sometimes Europe and later Japan, featuring performances by many heavy metal and hard rock musical groups. It was founded by Sharon Osbourne and her husband Ozzy Osbourne, both of whom also organised each yearly tour with their son Jack Osbourne, and was held almost annually between 1996 and 2018. The Ozzfest tour featured bands of a variety of genres within heavy metal and hard rock, including alternative metal, thrash metal, industrial metal, metalcore, hardcore punk, deathcore, nu metal, death metal, post-hardcore, gothic metal and black metal. Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath played the tour several times over the years.

Hostel is a 2005 horror thriller film written and directed by Eli Roth. It stars Jay Hernandez, Derek Richardson, Eyþór Guðjónsson, and Barbara Nedeljáková. It was produced by Mike Fleiss, Roth, and Chris Briggs, and executive produced by Boaz Yakin, Scott Spiegel, and Quentin Tarantino. Scream is the eleventh studio album by English heavy metal singer Ozzy Osbourne, released in the United Kingdom on 14 June 2010. The album was recorded at Osbourne's home studio "The Bunker" in Los Angeles, California and produced by himself and Kevin Churko, who had previously worked on Black Rain in 2007. Billed as 2011 Scream Awards, the 2011 ceremony of the Scream Awards, run by Spike TV, was the sixth and final iteration of these awards, which was run annually in prior years. The awards ceremony was held on 15 October 2011 on the Universal Studios lot in Hollywood and was broadcast by Spike TV on the following Tuesday. The discontinuance of these awards was attributed to their dwindling popularity and Spike TV's re-formatting.
