The 2009 Southern Conference Baseball Tournament was held at Fluor Field at the West End in Greenville, SC from May 20 through May 24. Second seeded Georgia Southern won the tournament and earned the Southern Conference's automatic bid to the 2009 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. It was Georgia Southern's fourth SoCon tournament win.
The tournament used a modified two bracket, double-elimination format. The teams that emerge from the loser's bracket on each side switch to the other bracket and play the team emerging from each winner's bracket, with the surviving teams playing a one-game final. Only the top eight teams participate, so Wofford, UNC Greensboro, and Davidson were not in the field.

The Southern Conference (SoCon) is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I. Southern Conference football teams compete in the Football Championship Subdivision. Member institutions are located in the states of Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
The Southern Conference Baseball Tournament is the conference championship tournament in baseball for the Southern Conference. The winner of the tournament receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. The event is scheduled for the Tuesday through Saturday before Memorial Day each year, five days prior to the NCAA Regionals.
The Mercer Bears are the athletic teams of Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, United States. Mercer is the only private university in Georgia with an NCAA Division I athletic program and fields teams in eight men's and nine women's sports. The university competes in the Southern Conference for most sports. In 2013, the football team competed in the Pioneer Football League.
The 2011 Southern Conference Baseball Tournament was held at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park in Charleston, SC from May 25 through May 29. Fourth seeded Georgia Southern won the tournament and earned the Southern Conference's automatic bid to the 2011 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. It was Georgia Southern's fifth SoCon tournament win and second in three years.
The 2012 Southern Conference Baseball Tournament took place at Fluor Field at the West End in Greenville, SC from May 23 through May 27. The final game was televised on ESPN3
The 2008 Southern Conference Baseball Tournament was held at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park in Charleston, SC from May 20 through May 24. Top seeded Elon won the tournament and earned the Southern Conference's automatic bid to the 2008 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. It was Elon's first SoCon tournament win. Elon joined the conference beginning with the 2004 baseball season.
The 2002 Southern Conference Baseball Tournament was held at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park in Charleston, SC from May 22 through May 25. Fourth seeded Georgia Southern won the tournament and earned the Southern Conference's automatic bid to the 2002 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. It was the Eagles third tournament win.
The 2012 Southwestern Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament took place at Lee–Hines Field, on the campus of Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA from May 16 through May 20, 2012. The Prairie View A&M Panthers won their third tournament championship and earned the conference's automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament.
The 2000 Southern Conference Baseball Tournament was held at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park in Charleston, SC from May 17 through May 21. Top seeded Georgia Southern won the tournament and earned the Southern Conference's automatic bid to the 2000 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. It was the Eagles second tournament win.
The 1996 Southern Conference Baseball Tournament was held at College Park in Charleston, SC from April 30 through May 3. Top seeded Georgia Southern won the tournament and earned the Southern Conference's automatic bid to the 1996 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. It was the Eagles first tournament win, having joined the league for the 1991 season. This was the final tournament held at College Park, as Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park opened and hosted the tournament beginning in 1997.

The annual event determines the conference champion of the Division I Southern Conference in college baseball. Third seeded Elon won their second tournament champion to earn the league's bid to the 2013 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. This was the last of 18 athletic championships held by the conference in the 2012–13 academic year.
The 2014 Sun Belt Conference Baseball Tournament was held at Eddie Stanky Field on the campus of the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama from May 21 to May 25, 2014. The tournament used a double-elimination format. Louisiana–Lafayette won the tournament, earning the Sun Belt Conference's automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. The league was expected to divide into two six team divisions for 2014, but due to the departures of three baseball playing schools the plan was shelved, possibly to be implemented in 2015 with the additions of Appalachian State and Georgia Southern.

The Citadel Bulldogs baseball represents The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina in college baseball at the NCAA Division I level. The program was established in 1899, and has continuously fielded a team since 1947. Their primary rivals are College of Charleston, Furman and VMI.
The 2015 NCAA Division I baseball season, play of college baseball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began in February 2015. The season progressed through the regular season, many conference tournaments and championship series, and concluded with the 2015 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament and 2015 College World Series. The College World Series, consisting of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA Tournament and held annually in Omaha, Nebraska at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha, ended on June 24, 2015 with the final game of the best-of-three championship series between Vanderbilt and Virginia, won by Virginia.

The season progressed through the regular season and concluded with the 1990 College World Series. The College World Series, held for the forty fourth time in 1990, consisted of one team from each of eight regional competitions and was held in Omaha, Nebraska at Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium as a double-elimination tournament. Georgia claimed the championship for the first time.

The 2021 Southwestern Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament was held at Toyota Field in Madison, Alabama from May 19 through May 23. Southern won the Tournament for the 17th time and earned the conference's automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament.
The 2022 Southern Conference Baseball Tournament will be held from May 24 through May 29 at Fluor Field at the West End in Greenville, South Carolina. The annual event determines the conference champion of the Division I Southern Conference in college baseball. The tournament winner earns the league's bid to the 2022 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. This is the last of 20 athletic championships held by the conference in the 2021–22 academic year.
