The 3rd Kuwaiti Federation Cup started on October 2, 2009.

The Kuwaiti Federation Cup is a competition organised by the Kuwait Football Association, the Kuwaiti version of a League cup and has been played in its current format every year since 2008.

Contents

The third Federation Cup is one of four competitions in the Kuwaiti 2009/2010 season. 14 clubs are taking part in the tournament.

They were divided into two groups of seven, and the winner and runner-up of each group will advance to the semi-finals.

The cup is used as a curtain raiser to the Kuwaiti Premier League season.

Al-Arabi SC (Kuwait) association football club

Al-Arabi Sporting Club is a Kuwaiti professional club based in Mansuriya, Kuwait City, that sponsors a number of teams, the most notable of which is the football team in the VIVA Premier League. Al-Arabi SC was named Al-Uruba at the beginning of 1953, and changed to Al-Arabi SC in 1960. As winners of the Kuwait Emir Cup in 2008, Al-Arabi SC was the first Kuwaiti team to compete in the AFC Cup. Al-Arabi SC has 57 official trophies next to its name, the most of any Kuwaiti football team. Al-Arabi SC's stadium is Sabah Al-Salem Stadium in Mansūriya, a suburb of the capital of the country, Kuwait City. It is the second largest stadium in Kuwait. Al-Arabi has never won any league title since the 2001–02 season. It had the same points as Kuwait SC in 2014–15 season, but the title went to Kuwait by the principle of the results of the matches between the two team. Al-Arabi SC is the only team in Kuwait that has never lost in the Kuwait Super Cup. Holding both records to be in the final of the Kuwait Crown Prince Cup 4 consecutive times tied with Kuwait SC and in Kuwait Emir Cup going to the final 11 consecutive times since 1962 to 1973, more than any Kuwaiti team.

Qadsia SC association football club

Qadsia Sporting Club is primarily an association football club. Based in Kuwait City, Qadsia Club is one of the most popular clubs in Kuwait. Al Qadsia was founded in 1953 and it was called Al Jazira before being renamed to Qadsia SC on 20 October 1960. Qadsia currently plays in the Kuwaiti Premier League and has won this league 17 times, as the most winning club in the league.

Kazma SC

Kazma Sporting Club is a Kuwaiti football club founded in 1964. Kazma play in Al-Sadaqua Walsalam Stadium in Adiliya, Al Asimah Governorate (Kuwait), Kuwait City and is the 3rd largest stadium in Kuwait. They have won the Kuwaiti Premier League 4 times. Kazma faced FC Barcelona at the end of the 2009–10 season, drawing 1–1 after Bojan Krkić scored in the 80th minute for Barcelona, before Abdullah Al Dhafiri equalised in the 90th minute with a fine effort for Kazma. On 19 April 2013 Kazma SC were relegated for the first time in their history after losing to Al-Arabi SC 3–0 in the final game of the 2012–13.

Kuwait Sporting Club is a Kuwaiti professional football and basketball club based in Kuwait City. The football team has won the Kuwaiti Premier League 14 times, with the most recent one coming in 2017–18. Kuwait SC also have 47 trophies to their name in Kuwaiti Club Football history. Omar Jehad Al Somah is a Syrian football player who is currently playing for Al Ahli in the Saudi Professional League. Nicknamed in Syria as Al ʿAqqid which is a historical civil character in Damascus known for participating in the resistance against occupiers and for being courageous, helpful and generous. Widely regarded as the best striker in Asia, Al Soma has 130 goals in 117 games for Al Ahli.

Burgan SC

Burgan Sports Club is one of the newer established sporting clubs in Kuwait, with Al-Qurain SC and has been registered to compete in Kuwait Football Association's domestic competition, the VIVA Premier League, Kuwait Emir Cup, Kuwait Crown Prince Cup, Kuwait Super Cup and Kuwait Federation Cup starting from the 2014–15 official football season. It is based in Al Farwaniyah.
