200 Po Vstrechnoy is a tribute album to the band T.A.T.u., released on November 5, 2021 by Lookport. The release is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the band's debut album 200 Po Vstrechnoy [1] .

Description

The album consists of 26 compositions with a total duration of 1 hour and 25 minutes. The release was created in collaboration with the co-authors of the Tatu duo — Elena Kiper, Sergey Galoyan, and Valery Polienko, whose songs are mainly featured on the tribute album [2] .

In support of the tribute, its participants performed at the Music Media Dome, Russia's largest concert hall, on November 20, 2021 [3] [4] [5]

Group reaction

The concert director of Julia Volkova, Katerina Dorosh, reported that Tatu has nothing to do with the album with covers. She also specified that the former female members of the duo (including Lena Katina) did not refuse to take part in the recording of the tribute album [6] .

Reviews

Boris Barabanov: "Despite the fact that melodically and harmonically, many of t.A.T.u.'s songs are not particularly striking, and one must work hard to find hidden musical depths in them, the album is important as a reminder that we did have such times." [7] [8] .

Mikhail Kozyrev praised the release, and t.A.T.u producer Ivan Shapovalov said that "he is very pleased that the album has taken place and is a tribute to the band he created." [7] .

Alexey Mazhayev gave the album mostly positive reviews. The only thing the reviewer emphasized in a negative context was the rap versions, the addition of his own verses, and the funk style of processing. He felt that this was "mostly not a hit" here [9] .
