Gyeongnam FC is a South Korean professional football club based in Gyeongsangnam-do. Its home stadium is in Changwon, the capital of South Gyeongsang Province. Gyeongnam FC was founded in 2006 and joined the K League as its 14th club for the 2006 season.
The 2010 edition of the K League was the 28th since its establishment in 1983. The 2010 season was known as Sonata K-League 2010 due to the competition's sponsorship by Hyundai Motor Company.
