The winner received Conference USA's automatic bid to the 2011 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. The Southeastern Conference Baseball Tournament is the conference tournament in baseball for the Southeastern Conference (SEC). It is a double-elimination tournament and seeding is based on regular season records. The winner receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. The SEC Tournament champion is separate from the conference champion. The conference championship is determined solely by regular season record.
The UTSA Roadrunners is a collegiate athletic program that represents the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). The UTSA Roadrunners are also commonly referred to as "UTSA", "Roadrunners", or simply "Runners" and are represented by the mascot Rowdy. The origin of Rowdy dates back to 1977, when the Roadrunner was chosen as the university's mascot by student election. The Roadrunners compete in the NCAA Division I Conference USA in 17 varsity sports. UTSA is San Antonio's only institution that competes in Division I FBS. UTSA joined the Western Athletic Conference on July 1, 2012. In April 2012, it was announced that UTSA would join Conference USA on July 1, 2013. The UTSA Cheer team has garnered two National Cheerleading Associations’ (NCA) collegiate national championships, first in 2012 and again in 2021. The cheer team has also secured a pair of top 5 finishes in 2019.

The tournament format, which has changed several times, currently consists of an eight-team double-elimination tournament format, in which the winners of two four-team brackets play in a single-game final. Rice, which has won the tournament seven times, is the most successful team in the tournament's history.

The Shenandoah Hornets are the athletic teams that represent Shenandoah University, located in Winchester, Virginia, in NCAA Division III intercollegiate sports. The Hornets compete as members of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. All together, Shenandoah sponsors 22 sports: 11 for men and 11 for women. Previously, the Hornets were members of the USA South Athletic Conference.

The 64-team tournament began on Friday, June 4, 2021, as part of the 2021 NCAA Division I baseball season and will conclude with the 2021 College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, starting on June 19 and ending on June 30.
