The 2011 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup was an international beach soccer tournament held in Ravenna, Italy from 1 September until 11 September 2011. The 16 national teams involved in the tournament were required to register a squad of 12 players; only players in these squads are eligible to take part in the tournament.
The squads were announced one week before the start of the World Cup on 25 August 2011. Overall, 192 players have travelled to Ravenna to play in the World Cup. [1]

However this was the first tournament to take place under the new two year basis; now the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup takes place once every two years. The tournament was confirmed in March 2010.

Ilya Yuryevich Leonov is a retired Russian beach soccer and former futsal player. From 2010 to 2018, he played for Lokomotiv Moscow, where for a time he served both as player and coach. After his retirement as a player he is coaching the Russia women's national beach soccer team, winning with them two Euro Beach Soccer Cups in a row, and continues coaching Lokomotiv Moscow.

The 2021 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup will be the 11th edition of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, the premier international beach soccer championship contested by men's national teams of the member associations of FIFA. Overall, this will be the 21st edition of a world cup in beach soccer since the establishment of the Beach Soccer World Championships which ran from 1995 to 2004 but was not governed by FIFA. This will be the sixth tournament to take place biennially; the World Cup took place annually until 2009.
The 2019 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup was an international beach soccer tournament held in Paraguay from 21 November to 1 December 2019. The 16 national teams involved in the tournament were required by FIFA to register a squad of 12 players, including two goalkeepers. Only players in these squads were eligible to take part in the tournament which was revealed on 15 November 2019.
