  1. The Asian qualifiers were originally due to take place in Thailand from 18–28 March 2021. [3] [4] Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they were initially postponed to between 28 April and 8 May, [5] and were subsequently cancelled entirely in January 2021. [6] In place of the qualifiers, the AFC handpicked their three representatives to go to the World Cup on 21 April, choosing the best performing nations over the course of the previous three editions of the AFC Beach Soccer Championship. [7]

The AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup is the main championship for beach soccer in Asia, contested between the senior men's national teams of the members of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). It is the sport's version of the better known AFC Asian Cup in association football.

The Japan national beach soccer team represents Japan in international beach soccer competitions and is controlled by the JFA, the governing body for football in Japan. One of the leading Asian beach soccer teams, Japan's best performance at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup was in the 2021 edition, when they were runners-up to the hosts Russia, which played as the Russian Football Union (RFU).

The United Arab Emirates national beach soccer team represents United Arab Emirates in beach soccer. They are one of the most successful Asian national teams, having won twice the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup. At the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, however, they have never got past the group stage Until 2024. The UAE team has participated in every edition of the Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup, which was founded after the 2009 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup was hosted in the United Arab Emirates and which is played only in the UAE. They hosted it again as for the second time in 2024.

The Japan national under-23 football team is a national association football youth team of Japan and is controlled by the Japan Football Association. The team won the gold medal at the 2010 Asian Games and were champions in the 2016 AFC U-23 Championship. Since 1992, it was decided that teams targeting athletes under the age of 23 will participate in the Olympics. Therefore, the name changes to Japan national under-22 football team the year before the Olympics and Japan national under-21 football team two years prior. The exception to this was the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which was postponed one year, so in 2021, the team was called the Japan national under-24 football team. At the 2024 Olympics, they advanced to the Knockout stage without three overage players and several key players.

The 2011 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup was an international beach soccer tournament held in Ravenna, Italy from 1 September until 11 September 2011. The 16 national teams involved in the tournament were required to register a squad of 12 players; only players in these squads are eligible to take part in the tournament.

The 2015 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup was the eighth edition of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, the premier international beach soccer competition for men's national teams, which has been organized by FIFA since 2005. The 2021 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup was the 11th edition of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. Overall, this was the 21st edition of a world cup in beach soccer since the establishment of the Beach Soccer World Championships which ran from 1995 to 2004 but was not governed by FIFA. This was the sixth tournament to take place biennially; the World Cup took place annually until 2009. The tournament took place in Moscow, capital of Russia, between 19 and 29 August 2021.

The 2021 AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup was originally to be the 10th edition of the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup, the premier beach soccer tournament contested by Asian men's national teams, organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

The 2021 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup was an international beach soccer tournament held in Russia from 19 to 29 August 2021. The 16 national teams involved in the tournament were required by FIFA to register a squad of 14 players, including three goalkeepers. This article lists the national beach soccer squads that will take part in the tournament. Only the players listed in these squads below are eligible to take part in the tournament which were revealed in full on 13 August 2021.

The 2024 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup was an international beach soccer tournament held in the United Arab Emirates from 15 to 25 February 2024. The sixteen national teams involved in the tournament were required by FIFA to register a squad of twelve players, including two goalkeepers. The squad size was reduced from the fourteen players allowed at the previous edition, which had been specially increased for that tournament in consideration of the "special circumstances encountered by teams due to the COVID-19 pandemic".
