The 2011 Korea Grand Prix Gold was a badminton tournament which took place at Hanium Culture Sports Center in Hwasun, South Korea from 6 to 11 December 2011 and had a total purse of $120,000. This is for the first time this tournament was graded as a Grand Prix Gold event, where before rate as Grand Prix event. This tournament was part of the qualification stage of 2012 Summer Olympics. Lee Yong-dae is a professional badminton player from South Korea who had been successful in both men's and mixed doubles. He reached world number 1 ranking with 4 different partners, Jung Jae-sung, Ko Sung-hyun and Yoo Yeon-seong in men's doubles, and Lee Hyo-jung in mixed doubles. He won a total of 43 Superseries titles, 37 in the men's doubles, the most of any doubles player in one discipline, and 6 in mixed doubles. He was ranked world number 1 in men's doubles for 117 consecutive weeks with his last partner, Yoo Yeon-seong.

At the end of the tournament, the host country won four from five titles, and also made a record to win the three consecutive doubles events for the eighth consecutive time. The women's singles title goes to Japanese player.
