The 2011 South Asian Football Federation Championship , sponsored by Karbonn Mobiles and officially named Karbonn SAFF Championship 2011, [1] was the 9th tournament of the SAFF Championship, which held in New Delhi, India.

Venue

It was originally scheduled to take place in Orissa, India, [2] but was switched to New Delhi by the executive committee of the All India Football Federation on 22 September. [3]

The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi was the main venue for the tournament. It is also the home stadium for India national football team and hosted the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

The draw ceremony took place on 2 November 2011 at New Delhi's Le Meridien Hotel was attended by a host of dignitaries including AIFF General Secretary Kushal Das, SAFF General Secretary Alberto Colaco and Maldives Football Association General Secretary Shah Ismail. [4]

The 2015 SAFF Championship was the 11th edition of the SAFF Championship, the biennial international men's football championship of South Asia organized by SAFF. It was held in India from 23 December 2015 to 3 January 2016.

The men's football tournament at the 2014 Asian Games was held in Incheon and three other cities in South Korea from 14 September to 2 October 2014. The opening match was played 5 days prior to the opening ceremony. The men's football tournament consisted of 29 teams.

The 2015 AFC Cup group stage was played from 24 February to 13 May 2015. A total of 32 teams competed in the group stage to decide the 16 places in the knockout stage of the 2015 AFC Cup.

The 2021 SAFF Championship, known as Ooredoo SAFF Championship 2021 for sponsorship reasons, was the thirteenth edition of the SAFF Championship, the biennial international men's football championship of South Asia organised by South Asian Football Federation (SAFF). Initially, it was decided to be hosted by Pakistan in 2020, but was postponed to September 2021 in Bangladesh. However, the tournament was postponed again to October due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with Maldives as host.

The 2022 SAFF U-20 Championship was the 4th edition of the SAFF U-20 Championship, an international football competition for men's under-18 national teams organized by South Asian Football Federation (SAFF). India was the hosts of the tournament, held between 25 July and 5 August 2022.

The 2022–23 Santosh Trophy qualification stage was contested by a total of 36 teams from 23 December 2022 to 31 January 2023, to decide the 10 places in the final round of the tournament.
