2012 Australian Sports Sedan season

The 2012 Australian Sports Sedan season is the 28th season of Australian Sports Sedan motor racing in which a national championship or national series has been contested. The season featured the 2012 Kerrick Sports Sedan Series, which began on 14 April 2011 at Mallala Motor Sport Park and will end on 14 October at Wakefield Park after fifteen races.

Kerry Baily claimed his sixth Australian Sports Sedan crown after winning the first five races of the series and consistently finishing on the podium. Former champions Tony Ricciardello and Darren Hossack overcame a difficult first round, which saw both of them borrow another competitor's car, to finish second and third in the series.

Drivers Points

The point score system was given a major shake up in 2012. Emphasis on the three races the make up each round was changed, placing a sliding scale on race length and points value with the third race worth twice as many points as the first race with the second race splitting the difference.

The National Series for Sports Sedans , formerly the Australian Sports Sedan Championship, is a CAMS sanctioned national motor racing title for drivers of cars complying with Australian Sports Sedan regulations. This class, essentially a silhouette racing car class, caters for cars of essentially free construction but utilising some of the bodywork of a closed, series production vehicle.

The 1982 Australian GT Championship was a CAMS sanctioned Australian motor racing title open to Group D GT cars and Group B Sports Sedans. It was the fifth Australian GT Championship, the first to be awarded since 1963 and the first to be contested over a series of races rather than a single race. The 1982 title, which was contested over a nine-round series from 16 May to 10 October, was won by Alan Jones driving a Porsche 935/80 entered by Porsche Cars Australia.

It was open to GT Cars complying with CAMS Group D regulations with Group B Sports Sedans and superseded Group C touring cars competing by invitation. The 1984 Australian GT Championship was a CAMS sanctioned national motor racing title and was the seventh Australian GT Championship to be awarded. It was a series open to grand tourer cars complying with CAMS Group D regulations with Group B Sports Sedans competing by invitation. The 2007 Kerrick Sports Sedan Series was an Australian motor racing series which was recognised by the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport as a National Series. It was the seventeenth running of a national series for Sports Sedans in Australia. It began on 22 April 2007 at Oran Park Raceway and ended on 9 December at Sandown Raceway after fifteen races.

The 2008 Kerrick Sports Sedan series was the 18th running of a national series for Sports Sedans in Australia. It began on 17 May 2008 at Mallala Motor Sport Park and ended on 30 November at Sandown Raceway after fifteen races.

2009 Australian Sports Sedan season

The 2009 Australian Sports Sedan season featured the 19th running of a national series for Sports Sedans in Australia. The series, officially known as the Kerrick Sports Sedan Series, began on 25 April 2009 at Wakefield Park and ended on 22 November at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit after fifteen races.

The 2009 Australian Superkart season covers national level Superkart racing in Australia during 2009. There were three national level race meetings in 2009 all held on the calendar of the Shannons Nationals Motor Racing Championships, the first two covered the Australian Superkart Championship, which was won by Sam Zavaglia. The third event, the stand-alone Pacific Superkart Challenge, was won by Warren McIlveen.

The 2010 Australian Sports Sedan season was the 26th season of Australian Sports Sedan motor racing in which a national championship or national series has been contested. The season featured the 2010 Kerrick Sports Sedan Series, which began on 6 March 2010 at Wakefield Park and ended on 24 October at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit after fifteen races. The series was televised on SBS program Speedweek.

The 1998 Australian Sports Sedan Championship was a CAMS sanctioned motor racing title for drivers of Group 2D Sports Sedans. It was the 14th Australian Sports Sedan Championship to be awarded by CAMS.

The 2011 Australian Drivers' Championship was a CAMS sanctioned national motor racing title with the championship winner receiving the 2011 CAMS Gold Star award. It was the 55th Australian Drivers' Championship and the seventh to be contested with open wheel racing cars constructed in accordance with FIA Formula 3 regulations. It was also recognised as the 11th Australian Formula 3 Championship. It was the third National Series for Sports Sedans to be contested in Australia following the discontinuation of the Australian Sports Sedan Championship at the end of 2003 and was the first to carry the "Kerrick Sports Sedan Series" name.
