Midfielders Paul Were and Kevin Omondi were dismissed from the squad for leaving the team's hotel on the night of 27 November 2012 and not returning until dawn the next morning. [3] [4] [5] A.F.C. Leopards players Bernard Mang'oli and Victor Ochieng were called in as replacements for the two players. [6] However, they were called back to the squad ahead of their semi-final match against Zanzibar due to injuries aggravated by their replacements, Mang'oli and Ochieng. [7] [8] [9]

The CECAFA Cup, is the oldest football tournament in Africa. It is organized by the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA). A FIFA competition, it includes participants of football playing national teams from the East African Region.
Peter Pinchez Opiyo Odhiambo, is a Kenyan midfielder, currently in the ranks of Kenyan Premier League side Nairobi City Stars. Duncan Aketch Ochieng is a Kenyan footballer who plays for Kenyan Premier League side Sofapaka as a goalkeeper. He spent the majority of his career at Mathare United, where he spent 16 years in 4 different stints. He also previously played for now defunct Mumias Sugar, V.League 1 side Sông Lam Nghệ An and Swedish Division 2 side IK Sleipner. He has also made several appearances for the Kenya national team, with whom he won the 2013 CECAFA Cup on home soil. He played the full 90 minutes in the final against Sudan, keeping a clean sheet to help his side to a 2–0 win and a 6th regional title.
The 2015–16 season is KCCA F.C's 2nd season in the Uganda Premier League sponsored by AZAM TV and the league is reported by its commercial name the Azam Premier League, and their 49th consecutive season in the top-flight of Ugandan football. Along with the Uganda Premier League, the club will also compete in the Uganda Cup/Kakunguru Cup and the Cecafa Kagame Interclub Cup. The season covers the period from 15 July 2015 to 15 June 2016.
