The 2013 East Coast Bullbars Australian Rally Championship is the 46th season of the Australian Rally Championship, one of the world's oldest continuously run rally championships. The season began 1 March at the newly revived National Capital Rally, and is scheduled to end 16 November at Rally Victoria, after six events.
The championship incorporates two international events, Round 5 is a World Rally Championship event, Rally Australia, while Round 4, the International Rally of Queensland is a round of the Asia-Pacific Rally Championship.
Each domestic rally is contested over two heats, with three or four components to the two international events. [1]
With the championship now awarded specifically to two-wheel-drive cars exclusively has seen an influx of European and Asian Super 2000 and Super 1600 cars as well as a revival of older rear-wheel-drive performance cars. While most of the top drivers have moved out of the Mitsubishi Lancer and Subaru Impreza 4WD turbos, they remain competitive with reigning Western Australian rally champion Alex Stone winning a heat at the Forest Rally.
Between Honda Jazz driver Eli Evans and Renault Clio driver Scott Peddar have dominated the 2013 season, winning all bar one heat and taking eleven of the 18 top three positions. Evans leads the championship by 29 points over Peddar. Peddar's teammate Tom Wilde is 88 points behind Evans in third. Mazda 2 driver Brendan Reeves, who is also racing in the NACAM Rally Championship is fourth a distant 119 points from Peddar. Proving the flexibility of the new regulations, Jack Monkhouse is fifth in the championship driving a 1999 model Nissan Silvia.

The World Rally Championship is the highest level of global competition in the motorsport discipline of rallying, owned and governed by the FIA. There are separate championships for drivers, co-drivers, manufacturers and teams. The series currently consists of 13 three to four-day rally events driven on surfaces ranging from gravel and tarmac to snow and ice. Each rally is usually split into 15–25 special stages which are run against the clock on up to 350 kilometres of closed roads.

Chris Atkinson is a professional rally driver. In the World Rally Championship (WRC), Atkinson drove for the Subaru World Rally Team between 2004 and 2008. His best finish on an individual WRC event is second, which he achieved at the 2008 Rally México and Rally Argentina. Other podium placings include third-place finishes at the 2005 Rally Japan and the 2008 Monte Carlo Rally.
Alister McRae is a British rally driver who competed in the World Rally Championship. He is the son of the five-time British Rally Champion Jimmy McRae and the younger brother of the late 1995 World Rally Champion, Colin McRae, and older brother of property entrepreneur Stuart McRae. His uncle Hugh "Shug" Steele is also a former rally driver.
Andreas Mikkelsen is a Norwegian rally driver. He is currently competing in the World Rally Championship-2 for Toksport World Rally Team. He previously drove for the factory teams of Volkswagen, Citroën and Hyundai in the World Rally Championship, finishing third in the drivers' standings in 2014, 2015 and 2016. His current co-driver is Torstein Eriksen.
Elfyn Rhys Evans is a Welsh rally driver. He is currently teamed with Scott Martin and is competing for Toyota Gazoo Racing in the World Rally Championship.
Sébastien Ogier is a French rally driver, competing for the Toyota Gazoo Racing Team in the World Rally Championship (WRC), who is teamed with the co-driver Julien Ingrassia. He has won the World Rally Drivers' Championship 8 times, in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020, & 2021.
Škoda Motorsport is the division of Czech car manufacturer Škoda Auto responsible for motorsport activities. The team had competed as a manufacturer in the World Rally Championship between 1999 and 2005 and Intercontinental Rally Challenge. Now it competes in the European Rally Championship and WRC-2. Škoda Motorsport drivers have won the 2012–2014 ERC series with the Škoda Fabia S2000, Škoda Motorsport was also the most successful manufacturer in IRC 2010–2012 and in WRC-2 2015–2018 with Škoda Fabia R5.
Kris Meeke is a Northern Irish professional rally driver, best known for competing in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC). He was the 2009 Intercontinental Rally Challenge champion. His co-driver is Seb Marshall, also British. He began his career as a Computer Aided Designer with M-Sport, at the headquarters of the Ford World Rally Team, before moving on to competing in the Peugeot Super 106 Cup in 2001.
